I used to get paid for my freelance gigs through PayPal, but there were always instances where clients would reverse the payment through disputes even after I completed the job. I'm curious, what issues has bitcoin helped you tackle?

Bitcoin as currency, I didn't have much opportunity to use it but Bitcoin as a concept helped me to learn a lot about the system that we are trapped in. I guess that is what I got most from Bitcoin, rather than monetary benefits. I never had any idea how the paper money works and once I cam to know about decentralization why it is better than the current one we have been using and it's much deeper that will take pages to explain everything in detail.

When you get it, you understand why you need BTC. To be in charge of your own value at hand

In case you are still accepting payments via PayPal, you should replace it with one that does not have the dispute feature bros. I know that feeling, because I used to be a freelancer & lost a dispute even though in the actual case I should have won. Back to BTC, I'm not sure exactly where BTC has solved the problems around me, is being able to deposit to gambling sites using BTC instead of FIAT a solution?

That PayPal refund policy is one thing i really dont like about them, I have not used bitcoin much to receive payment but through bitcoin idea we have other crypto currency which is what have helped me get paid for freelancing job i offer to some clients outside of my country. Aside from that I have not personally used bitcoin to solve any pressing problem but I have places which it could help me when the time comes.

That's how I got into Bitcoin originally, OP! Many people in the forum will never understand how it is like to have an unfavourable passport. People around me talk highly of Wise (transferwise in my time), Revolut, Paypal. But if you're a third-worlder travelling for work or freelancing you really try to get as creative as possible. I still use several remittance services that don't rip me off like Wise/Revolut/Paypal did (chargebacks weren't as big an issue as repetitive blocking of accounts, taking months to resolve). I am curious though, did Bitcoin create new problems for you? It didn't exactly create a problem for me, but it created an opportunity for a problem that I, unfortunately, took head on heh. Let's just call it P2P.

Right now one of the best is sending of funds, I dont need to get hassle to receive or to sent payment to other people ive known just to buy goods and services also even some of the platform im using is now supported the use of the cryptocurrency as a mode of payment and just a single confirmation in the chain its already now ready to use. Also no information needed such as KYC just to have the funds. Well the thing you need to make sure is the security of the wallet and the devices its all about yours if you are carefree. Bitcoin open a lot of doors to me thats why i like to use it.

Using PayPal can be a real pain. I once used it to receive a payment, and it took three days for PayPal to verify my documents, and another two days for the money to arrive in my account. That's a lot of time wasted just to receive that one payment. It's different with Bitcoin. It only takes a few minutes for the payment to arrive in your wallet. It's much simpler and requires no verification.

I have used Bitcoin to make several payments across the globe. I remember when I want to pay for some online courses, it was very difficult paying through our local banking system and even PayPal was not possible as it was banned in my country. Then I remember I had some Bitcoins with which I could make the payment so I used part of the Bitcoin I had to make the payment. If more businesses are accepting Bitcoin, it will make a lot of things easier for people who do business from other countries.

I have some problems that Bitcoin has brought solution to but on this topic, I'll stick to one which might sound casual but very serious. Bitcoin brought peace of mind to me as a freelancer who sometimes get abroad clients. Before Bitcoin, cross border payment were difficult to process, from delays to fees and sometimes failed transactions. With Bitcoin, receiving payment is very much simpler. Once I receive payment and it's confirmed, there's no worry about reversals or involvement of third parties. Bitcoin might not be perfect for everything but it's helped take away a lot of payment stress for me.

Firstly, I abhore constant government surveillance since privacy matters a lot to me which is something BTC and other popular crypto like Monero etc helped a lot with over the years. Secondly, it's far easier to buy pc game items using crypto these days. Thirdly, BTC along with other crypto help me gamble without worrying about country restrictions and similar nonsense. Overall, they are a dream come true for me.

The biggest problem I had before getting into Bitcoin was that I spent all my salary from year to year, after discovering Bitcoin it changed how I viewed money. Learning about Bitcoin, the FIAT system and in particular inflation really opened my eyes to how messed up the FIAT system is and how Bitcoin was created to help us all in simply being more in control of our finances.

It solves devaluation problems in my country, since exchanging Bitcoin for USD yields more money than the official exchange rate, in addition to protecting me against inflation. It also offers better online payment options; buying online in my country has been quite a challenge in recent years if you don't have a foreign bank account. Being careful with money is a real issue; there was a time when my government would block bank accounts for practically anything. Anyway, I suppose everyone has their own way of making good use of Bitcoin.

I bought some digital stuff… (domain and hosting mostly) I could use it to buy plane tickets and cellphone topups too but somehow I kept using my credit cards instead. It is not that I needed to use btc to purchase stuff but It feels nice to have that option. I think that matters more than anything. We have the option to use btc to purchase stuff. We don’t have to, or need to. Btc provides an alternative and that’s the real benefit.

That is the problem with PayPal, where the sender can dispute the transaction and immediately reverse it. Unlike Bitcoin, once a transaction is confirmed, it cannot be reversed unless you accept 0 confirmations, in which case the transaction can be cancelled due to double spending. There are many things that Bitcoin could solve. I usually buy some domains and hosting in Namecheap, and Bitcoin solved my problem. I know there are many hosting and domain providers that accept BTC nowadays; no more PayPal because the rate of exchanging USD in my country directly from PayPal is pretty high compared to when I convert BTC to fiat, with cheaper fees and safety for reverses.

Bitcoin has given me and Maney hope of a better tomorrow, You know before now, people might be anxious of how the next 5-10 years will be, but when people started investing into Bitcoin, the probabilities of a great future has increased to almost peak, Even as we go on on our daily hustle to secure our tomorrow we still have a high probability investment at hand for a better tomorrow as well.

I found in Bitcoin a mean to be paid for the work done online in a much superior way than if it was done through Paypal. Then I had in Bitcoin an alternative to store my money thinking on long term profitability, with better rates than I could find available in any investments at banks. At same time, I learned with Bitcoin how important decentralization and self-custody are, and how people should embrace these concepts, at least in some extent of their lives. So, Bitcoin helped addressing financial problems, but also providing knowledge for the problem of the unawareness, which I guess to be the most important thing after all.

Some might not see this to be a problem but, I think Bitcoin made investing in a project that runs into Trillions of dollars much easier for me and every day folks. When people try to consider investments on privets that runs into these amounts in market capitalization, it’s always very discouraging to consider how little your input might be. With Bitcoin, you tend not to have that feeling. I rather focus on how much I can put in from time to time in order to build a portfolio that can become something real big in the future. So yeah, it did solve that problem in investing for me.

If someone wants to scam you in the first place, they won't agree to being paid in BTC. If they do, they still won't deliver in the end because it is easier to get scammed that way. But for the types of scams happening now, especially refund ones, BTC is the best option out there. I know how PayPal is when it comes to a single report, therefore I don't use it for anything except very small payments. For bigger payments, we should always use banks, and PayPal has integrated a lot of banking options so you do not even have to be a PayPal user. You can ask the other party to send you funds to your bank if you want. But if BTC has already solved your problem, then never mind.
