So, I'm starting to figure out that real mining needs some serious gear and hardware that I can't even think about buying. But what about those silly mining games on Android? I mean, they seem tiny compared to what actual miners are doing. For someone just messing around and not investing anything, are those games even worth it? I'm like a total newbie with this crypto stuff. If any of these mobile apps are actually legit, even for casual use, which ones would you guys suggest?

You can’t mine Bitcoin using mobile phone. You can only mine Bitcoin using ASIC miner while mobile mining is a completely scam if ever you stumble on an apps that offers it. Mobile mining is only applicable on bunch of shitcoins that is worthless to mine. Much better to purchased Bitcoin if you don’t have money to buy mining equipment since it’s really pricey to setup mining equipment for Bitcoin.

Okay got it, mobile miners are bs... Just put a little money in the exchange and play around with it. I will say this though, back when "coin hunt world" was new in 2021, I made like $580 bucks in Bitcoin and etherium driving around with friends having a great time. That game was legit.

In my estimation and from experience, 99.99% of Android app mining games are scams. They do not and cannot mine sh*t. You can't earn anything from it. The people who are manking money off of it for those who download the Android app mining games are the people app developers.Phones are not as powerful to mine anything. The only most effective ways to mine bitcoin is the use of an ASIC. Another type of mining that is closely associated with the Android app mining games and which I also consider a scam is cloud mining. This one is ponzi on steriods. For the ones that are not ponzis, trust me when I say the investor will never get back their return on investment. The fees they charge are just too high. James Lopp has a very wide array of mining topics covered in his Bitcoin Mining Resources. I will advice you go through it to learn more.

These games are a waste of time. Only the devs are making money from those games. Mining itself is also a waste of time if you don't have "free" electricity. If you are bullish on favorite crypto (could be btc or something else), just buy that coin. Don't waste your time on mining or stupid mobile games. However, since you said you don't know much about crypto, you should probably need some education before you buy anything. Do more research. Read the forum.

No one is saying that such games cannot be legit, but when it comes to Bitcoin, it cannot be connected in any way to actual mining. Real Bitcoin mining requires specialized hardware and a significant amount of energy. Games like Coin Hunt World, while potentially rewarding, are more akin to a treasure hunt or a gaming experience with a crypto reward system. They don't involve the energy-intensive process of validating transactions and mining new Bitcoin.

Think about your question a little, and you will find your mistake. You understand that these games do not engage in real mining, which means there will be no profit. And where does the profit come from in these games? It is the money of players who buy virtual equipment. This is ordinary hype.

I can run a game where I can tell people that every time they fart they would get 1 sat, I call it fart-mining game, I then go to lifeless people who love watching weird shit and tell them they can watch other people fart for 2 sat per fart, I end up making 1 sat per fart, everyone in this mess is happy, but zero sats were made in this mess.

Those Android mining apps are usually games in every sense—they’re not actually mining cryptocurrency the way real miners do with their hardware setups. Most of these apps simulate mining or let you earn tiny fractions of crypto through activities like watching ads or completing tasks

I noticed these apps started using the mining term to attract users a few years ago, and with the hype around airdrop, they advertise more aggressively. I think this is the 3rd or 4th discussion where I have seen people get tricked by the word mining for different reasons. Unfortunately, most people don't want to learn further so they just associate 'mining' with 'farming'.

Majority of them are just scams. There's no way on earth that you would mine anything worthwhile from a mobile phone. Back in the day when we could CPU mine, sure, you might have earned something. However, today it's all about ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) - machines that are designed to mine bitcoin. The only issue is, to mine anything decent, they use a LOT of power. And they being, you need more than one. And it's the electricity cost to run them that is the killer.

I wish you were here when Bitcoin Faucets was a thing, i made significant Bitcoin with faucets, and it is a win win situation for the faucet owners and the miners, you get paid every hour into your wallet, it was that easy, but today Bitcoin worth over 100k, no single faucet can keep up, they are all out of business. Avoid any app that promises free Bitcoin now, because to even reach the target to be able to withdraw will take forever, it is not worth it, if you feel like you are missing out on Bitcoin mining, and you don't have enough money for Big Asic miners you can look onto BTC USB miners, and start mining solo, it is a casino style of mining Bitcoin, as it can take forever to solve a single block, but electricity wise it takes few watts to run. Look into Lucky miner or Canaan Avalon Nano 3.

Indeed it has become industrial scale. Which is why very few people actually enter into mining and older miners have sold off their rigs and moved on from it. The ones who are running are those owning big farms of ASICs and cheap electricity and cold ambient temperatures. I would say that those people are "winning" - it is a serious hashpower competition for them too. With newer ASICs coming up, they are in a constant rat race to bag the latest equipment and be on the biggest earners for their pool. It does appear to be an unhealthy competition to me. Any android apps that can say they mine on your phone are malware, so they are to be avoided.
