I took part in a contest about some altcoin a while back

I entered this contest and if I recall right, the top prize was 1 BTC. I ended up placing in the top 10 and got some of that altcoin sent to my Ethereum address on an exchange. Does anyone here know the exact name of the coin that kicked off this promo so I can try to recover those coins? If you prefer not to share it publicly, feel free to message me privately. Around what year did what you are talking about actually happen? Given more details would help; I have read some old threads which concern airdrops and context with such a high amount when value was not this high. And if you could remember the exchange you used, it could also be easier to contact the exchange or check the balance only if you can still access it.

Based on on your description that it happened around 5-8 years most probably this part of the ICO season during 2017 to 2018 which there’s a lot of altcoin do a contest with 1BTC as reward because back then Bitcoin value is still low and it’s the most popular reward on contest so you will have a hard time finding that specific altcoin unless you give more details. Do you still have the exchange access on which you received the ETH as rewards? You can tract the coin transaction history by accessing the exchange deposit history to find any clue about the source fund.
