Hey everyone,
we all remember how Coinhive brought browser-based mining to the spotlight, but it didn’t last long at all.
I'm curious if something less demanding on resources, like proof-of-view or proof-of-attention, could actually work out. Imagine using a lightweight JavaScript library to check if a webpage is still being viewed and if the user is engaged, meaning the browser’s viewport hasn’t been closed.
Is browser mining making a comeback?

I do not know much about altcoins mining, but I know that coins like Pi used phone based mining algorithm for mining and it worked before the coin was launched. I do not know if that is still working, but if miners continue to mine the coin, it will still be the phone based mining that they are using.
It's more like a proof of view. Brave browser is one of best example about how users being rewarded after they're viewing the ads. It's much more efficient instead of focing people to mine in the webpage use their CPU, which is very inefficient. It can also burn their CPU too. That's why coinhive dead due to the how efficient that idea.
People have left the idea of browser mining. It makes more sense to incentivizing the users instead of force them to burn their PC.
