I used to see a lot of articles and reports about different farms around the globe using a more eco-friendly way to mine bitcoin back in 2021 and 2022. Recently, though, it feels like the buzz around this topic has died down a bit and there’s not much news on it anymore. So I’m wondering, is sustainable mining still gaining traction? If yes, which areas are leading the way in this kind of mining? Personally, I think it’s a solid approach, and more farms should definitely tap into sustainable energy sources for their operations. This could attract a bigger crowd that cares about the environment to bitcoin and mining.

It became less 'news worthy' because much of BTC mining IS already using sustainable power sources, eg hydro, wind, solar, and nuclear. Many estimates put the use of renewable power at over 80%

I am using solar energy for bitcoin mining. I still have some issues with controlling the maximum temperature in the room. To handle that, I have to take a separate power connection other than solar power. When it comes to your question, my answer is sustainable approaches(Hydro Power, Wind Power) are already there.

In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in interest in Sustainable Crypto Mining (also known as Green Mining). Many mining farms around the globe are exploring green options to reduce their carbon footprint and promote cleaner, more sustainable cryptocurrencies. If you're interested in learning more about green mining and discovering examples of countries that have already adopted this practice, we encourage you to check out the following article: https://zionodes.com/blog/green-mining-a-global-overview.
