I've been trying to figure out how OP Returns actually work and how I can implement them. So, I gave it a shot with my Electrum wallet. But when I get to the address, amount, and OP_RETURN hex, I can't seem to put anything in the Pay To field.
I've checked out all the tutorials I could find online, but this simple task has turned into a real headache for me. Every time I move my cursor to the Pay To box, it tells me:
Line #1: invalid address
Just a heads up, I'm using Testnet for testing.
I'm reading on Reddit that it changed syntax. Try using the pay-to-many feature this way:
I don't have any testnet coins to test right now, but it appears green to me:
I guess you are trying to send more coins than you have. Because 1.177 mBTC is your balance, which means 0.00117700 BTC. But you are trying to send 0.02 somehow.
However, it seems that you got what you wanted anyway: https://mempool.space/testnet4/tx/90faba7e5fbbe17be50b44f216d039a57fbf611101ad3ad91c5ec95e9c0b2fc0
Thanks this one worked. It was syntax eror.
Did you try broadcasting this transaction yourself? Cause I did not broadcast this transaction. Also 0.02 is counted there by mBTC check my screenshot. I got this same answer when I asked it to my AI assistant.
Tip: In Electrum, most of the options and buttons have a built-in tool-tip.
And in your case, the Tool-tip containing the correct answer should appear if you click that "Pay to" on the left which is actually a button.
But to be fair, the developers didn't make it obvious since it doesn't look like clickable.
