Anyone knows how to hook this thing up to a computer? Nothing seems to be working. The included software isn’t recognizing it as connected. I’ve tried it on both Windows 10 and 11.

Ask in the main thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5423227.0 However: 1) Did it ever work? 2) Are you sure the power supply is good? 3) Do you see it in device manager in Windows? 4) Are you sure the USB cable it good. Put that info in when you ask in the main post. -Dave

What exactly the software included you mean? And what source did you download it? Have you installed the driver? Without a driver this unit is undetectable you need to install the driver that came from Zadig. You can follow the guide from Kano on how to install driver below - https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer/blob/master/README#L611 Or directly download it from https://zadig.akeo.ie/ All guides and troubleshooting for Gekko units can be found here https://kano.is/gekko.php

thanks its probably a dud miner. Zadig doesnt detect it to update driver. have checked everything except a different usb cable. the troubleshooting steps that guide offers for the R909 is if it doesnt work restart it XD. the software i was refering to was zadig as well as other usb software ive used to try to detect the device.

Is there any sign that the unit has power(LED lights and a fan spinning)? If it's running then maybe the USB cable is defective you need to replace it since that's the only one that you haven't tested yet or it could be the USB port is broken try to clean it with isopropyl alcohol and brush or replace the USB port.

^^ Ja. It is very possible that you are using a USB charging cable - most that are labeled as 'charging' do not have the 2 data wires in them. When buying cables always look for the words 'data' and/or 'sync' in the description as that will mean that it has all 4 wires in it.

yes it boots up, fan, leds. and motherboard leds. i tried to connect it to me server running truenas. it freezes the server XD, it wont even boot if plugged in. so not sure if thats good or bad. but it tries to do something. ive got a new cable ordered and will see if that does anything.
