You can check CoinMarketCap, their official social media channels, and reputable crypto news outlets for updates. Some good sources include CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, and Decrypt. Also, dont forget to explore community forums like this one, if they have an official announcement thread here.
CoinMarketCal: https://coinmarketcal.com/en/ (not to be confused with CoinMarketCap) is probably what you're looking for.
This obviously is not going to list every coin under the sun, but should cover at least the popular ones.
You can also find, follow, and set notifications on several crypto news channels on social media. There are crypto traders who have made money from the prompt information that they got from a crypto news channel they were following.
You can't get all in one site, but a bit of looking around will get you what you want.
For example, here are some of the sites i have used before
1. https://coindar.org/
2. https://icodrops.com/
3. https://www.coincarp.com/events/
4. https://coinmarketcap.com/upcoming/
try to look at dropstab you'd find some new project and information related to their tokenomics and seed funding I think this is good platform to find out a project before they're big enough and garnered attention of the public.
usually coin that are listed on CMC are the coin that hasn't yet released their coin to public but already popular enough, I think both work well to complement each other but I'd stick with dropstab for convenience sake.
I think there are plenty of other sites too that provide insigtful information about crypto project at their early stage such as funding stage.
Surprised to see this website still active. I used them in the past to track upcoming token events. If OP is trying to use this keep in mind that most of the events are submitted by the users, so you can still miss some of them. Not to mention some listings can be fake too. Pay attention to the vote/confidence on each listing. It's difficult since some events don't even get 100 votes so make sure you double check them. CMIIW.
Maybe in Altcoin announcement since its an alts. If you are looking for discussion for that go head on altcoin discussion and sometimes there are users posting new project and how to be connected there either its an ICO, airdrop or some sort of collaboration.
I think its not much info to find here for good projects. I myself are more relying on social such as X to find those.
Honestly, I don't think our forum is the ideal place to search or learn about altcoin projects because most people don't welcome altcoin discussions. So altcoin projects don't seem to care much about forum where they can promote their projects. Our forum is mainly focused on bitcoin so it is more suitable for people who want to learn about bitcoin rather than altcoins.
I also suggest social network X and OP can also combine with the websites listed above by members to get full information about the project. But it seems OP is newbie, I think he should not get involved in altcoins, especially new altcoins, and think it will be easier to make profit from them.
I think it has something to do with spam IMO. It doesn't help that some projects dislike it whenever someone asks something critical on their ANN thread. Not to mention there are dozens of scammers lurking around making rug pull now and then. But yeah, it seems like most of them prefer to focus on social media instead of this forum. It's easy to get views when you can spam and bump views to begin with.
Aside from the known websites, coinmarketcap, coingecko, cointelegraph, and other crypto news websites. Try to search them for mostly on Twitter(X).
But you have to be very careful with all of the new coins because many shillers are going to tell you this and that. Although the reality is that you'll have hard time with them because not all are going to be worth your penny.
It seems like just last week I also read a topic that someone created here on the forum that is similar to this topic because he wants to buy upcoming coins in this field of the crypto space.
But I will still answer you op on this matter.
For me there are several platforms so you know that coinmarketcap is one of them, descreener or defillama can also help you or
maybe icodrops can also be found there.
CMC's new coin section is definitely the way to go, although they are not heavily reviewed and sometime have some shady coins as well.
but from my experience, I'd say try to follow legit airdrop channel you will get the earliest information about new project at their testing stage even before they went to public or even before they got listed in CMC.
I don't know where these people got their information from but they are really fast in gathering such info.
if you're seeking for listing announcement, you can always try to find on exchange's news article and twitter account, they usually updated info about listing of new coin, sometime a coin that's really low in market capitalization.
Yep - but to be fair, if the news is on exchanges, chances are you are too late to the party.
Groups are a good way too - but not too much of them, because the info flowing can be overwhelming. No need to be flooded with the news about new coins or drops - just a handful of those groups can be and should be enough.
Yep, shillers in X especially are paid for going for some coins that aren't really worth it - some people do be talking interesting stuff in threads, however, most of it would be rubbish.
Stay safe, OP.
absolutely, just find a group with high quality information, no need to get drowned into too much information of these airdrops because I also personally know that great amount of these early stage project information are just plain shitty project, only very few select actually a good project and that is why we should do our due diligence to analyze each one of them, but basically the rule of thumb is, if OP really want to find a project as early as it can, find it through these groups, be sure not to join the scam group though. otherwise be an angel investor and get the insiders info which gonna be hard to pull off because it will require us to be rich .
it's basically like finding hidden gem in meme coin trenches, if we want to get in as early as possible, be sure to have the energy to filter out the shitty meme coins.
This is very difficult to do now, with the bull run in full swing and the excitement about this market being sky high, the number of coins being released these days must be huge, trying to keep up with all of those coins, while selecting the coins we think have some potential is not possible, even if we dedicated our entire day to it, so anyone looking into new coins to invest needs to take a decision at some point, and accept they cannot invest in those coins without taking a massive risk as well.
In such cases I often rely on two sites to find new coins and also news about all new coins, they are https://coinmarketcap.com/id/all/views/all/ and another one is https://www.coingecko.com/id/all-cryptocurrencies so you can also explore both of them if you need them and if there is another site that can help you in terms of information about all coins. I think you should also try it because everyone is always free and does not have to stick to one or two sites if the goal is to find the latest info about crypto coins.
