OS: Windows XP, Windows 10 Specs: Windows machine, decent storage to grab the blockchain 100x, should be fast enough. Issue: I'm trying to get the core files from the very first release. Related Info: Block 2. Transaction ID: 9b0fc92260312ce44e74ef369f5c66bbb85848f2eddd5a7a1cde251e54ccfdd5. Screenshot: I'm posting this from my phone. Log Files: Any idea which logs from the Bitcoin client might help? I'm looking for some guidance on getting my old Bitcoin core files to function again. I've done some digging, and the only folks who seem to have made progress are on Linux. So, here's my deal. Maybe someone here has some advice. I need the Bitcoin core files from Windows Vista, but I don't have that OS. They were last accessed on either Windows XP or Windows 7. The last time I accessed everything was around 2010-2011 when I got some help from one of the early Bitcoin developers. Back then, my coins weren't visible. I fixed it a few days later, but he had no idea. That was the last time we communicated. I know I own Bitcoin block 2 and I have the signature to prove it. I could spend from this UTXO set, but I’d really prefer to avoid using anything before block 170. Any suggestions are appreciated, even if you think this approach is silly. Thanks in advance for any tips you can share. Also, let’s keep the conversation focused. No off-topic stuff about Satoshi, Hal, or Adam (who didn’t reply, by the way). If you have those kinds of questions, just kick off a new thread elsewhere, and I’ll do my best to respond.

TL;DR: you claim to have mined the second Bitcoin block, just 1 minute after satoshi mined the first Bitcoin block. I've seen time-wasters here, usually after they bought a fake wallet, but this is a new level. Great. Sign a message, and I'll apologize for calling this fake and drop 42 Merits on your post.

Genesis Block 0 and 9 we know belongs provably to Satoshi. Block 1 and Block 2 likely weren't mined by him or the fictional miner Patoshi according to http://satoshiblocks.info and the underlying nonce values analysis. I'm not saying Patoshi was Satoshi, some say yes, others don't agree. I recommend to read what Sergio Demian Lerner has compiled, it's quite interesting and entertaining, at least it was for me. Much more entertaining than wannabees like OP claims. I will add 42 Merits on top of yours if OP shows up with a proper Bitcoin signed message with private key of Block 2.

Well that is kind of witty lol , I mean it is possible he is not wasting time and it is bona fide? but claiming he mined block number 2 is grope way too farfetched. You know Genesis block & block 1 took days on the whole because Satoshi was trialing the software & also mining solo, difficulty back then was extremely low, and there were small number of miners. So put forward he is this master of number just for the reason he "mined block 2" does not in reality hold, it goes off more like somethin mix of myth & wishful thinking than something based on true early bitcoin data.
