So I tried using an air gun to take off the heatsink from my motherboard, and I ended up blowing on it for ages before I figured out something was off. I checked the LCD and saw the temp was way too low. Makes sense why it took forever, I was too scared to crank up the heat when I first started. Once I adjusted the temperature, the solder paste melted real quick, and everything worked as it should. Has anyone else run into similar issues while fixing stuff?

I'll show you a picture If the chip is dead, the most important thing is not to damage the board. Sometimes repairers use double-sided heating.

What type of motherboard you working on and what was the problem that makes you believe that these heatsinks are the problem? What issue are you trying to fix and how was it after the operation?
