I wanted to share how I arranged my miners in the basement. I've got around 30 Antminer S9 units running in different spots. The reason for this setup was to distribute the load across the breakers so I wouldn't risk overheating any wires or tripping the automatic relays all the time.
One issue I ran into was that hot air from one miner would get sucked into another's intake, making everything even hotter. To tackle this, I built a large wooden box and created shelves inside using long, thick wires to hold the miners in place. It’s like a wall of miners all pulling air from one spot and pushing the hot air out the back.
I also added a couple of big fans to blow some of that hot air out of the basement, which helped create a nice cool air channel. If you stand in front of the box, you can actually feel a little breeze.
I laid out long cables to keep the automatic relays and breakers working fine, and so far, everything's going well. I've noticed the temperatures have dropped by about 2-3 degrees, depending on the outside weather. Just a bit of smart positioning can make a difference, which is why many big mining farms use similar setups.
Here’s one of the three boxes I built.
By the way, my old account was a pretty well-known one: lowbander80. Been mining since 2013.
