Hey everyone,
I've got a quick question about Specter Shield and Electrum.
I'm trying to figure out how to set up a shield, but I can't seem to find any info online about whether it's compatible with Electrum.
Does anyone here know if you can run the Shield alongside Electrum?
Thanks!

Yes the steps are in their documentation:
https://docs.specter.solutions/desktop/
https://docs.specter.solutions/desktop/faq/#how-would-one-sign-with-electrum-do-i-need-to-create-multisig-wallet-in-electrum-first-or-can-i-create-it-with-specter-desktop
Don't know anything about the device or anyone using it so I can't comment on anything else, but they do show you how to connect it to Electrum.

There's a (small) topic about it: Specter DIY hardware wallet:
Note: I haven't verified this claim.
But it's more about Specter Desktop, for example you can use your Electrum Coldwallet or Hotwallet as a signature for the Specter Desktop.
What I meant is Specter DIY, it is a HWW and my question was whether I can use this HWW as a signature device with Electrum Desktop.
Thanks, I'll read through the thread

The only Electrum-related content in their documentation is to connect their desktop app to an Electrum server but it's somehow labeled as "Connect with Electrum".
There's nothing about using the hardware wallet with Electrum client.
And if ever, it may be via third-party plugin since I can't find any Specter hardware wallet support in Electrum's included plugins.
Plugins: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/tree/master/electrum/plugins (all famous HW wallets are there)
I can't find KeyStone among the plugins either, but KeyStone Bitcoin Only Firmware is compatible with Electrum.
Does anyone have a Specter Shield and can say more about it?

I found the documentation of their DIY wallet (the link in DaveF's reply is for their desktop wallet)
Link to Specter Shield DIY doc: https://docs.specter.solutions/diy/
And based from the "communication" options (link), its QR code isn't compatible with Electrum since Electrum shows base43-encoded data instead of base64 in its QR code.
USB connection isn't an option as we discussed since Electrum doesn't officially included a plugin for it.
On the other hand, SD card should be supported since Electrum exports in PSBT format; however, signed transactions should be in hex for "broadcast" button to be available.
There's only one way to find out: try to 'export->sign->import' a transaction but don't broadcast if you don't want to send it.
