I’ve been pretty tired of the whole Telegram grind for airdrops lately. So, I thought I’d switch gears and gave NodePay a shot. Instead of spending all day tapping buttons, you just set up a node and share your unused internet bandwidth. It’s that easy, and yeah, you actually make money from it.
It kinda reminds me of Grass, which got off to a solid start. I’m also keeping a close eye on Gradient since it seems pretty cool. Projects like these DePIN ones are definitely gaining traction, and NodePay already has over 200k users and has raised around $7M. They’re rolling out a points system that turns into $NC tokens. Season 1 is currently live, but I jumped in during season 2 and I’ve got about 10k points, so there’s still time to get involved.
Feels great knowing I’m not just letting bandwidth go to waste anymore. Anyone else here running a node or checking out Gradient?
That's a good thing, but it would be even better if you use your device & internet better. For example by increasing your crypto knowledge rather than just running a node that's not from an L-1 or L-2 project. DePIN is a token category that's currently in its hype, $GRASS was the last I knew. After that I never knew or encountered any new good DePIN projects. I've an additional question, why are you running new DePIN projects when there are already running projects & proven to pay their users.
So many people who used to be so active on Tap to Earn platforms are making a shift to node running because the task is much easier; you don't have to look on your cellphone every hour; it's draining your cellphone and could damage your cellphone.
Running node that uses your excess bandwith is a pretty good idea to get a free token. Though this concept is not new, Honeygain already started this concept years ago, but earning on this platform is slow, and they keep a large portion of the profit. Let's see if this concept will last or if they will have the same fate as these tap to earns.
Grass was very generous, for sure.
Don't know how it's now, but during it's initial phase, it went down a bit and pretty high in such a short period of time - lots of potential was and probably is still there.
I completely agree with you! The shift from tap-to-earn platforms to node running is a welcome change for many. The convenience of not having to constantly check your phone and the potential for less phone damage are definite advantages. And you're right, Honeygain did pioneer this concept, but the slow earnings and large profit cuts were major drawbacks. It's exciting to see new platforms like NodePay emerging, and they even give a chance to lock up BGB and get NC airdrops, hopefully, they'll be able to sustain and improve upon this model. Fingers crossed.
Even in telegram bots there is still a concept like other projects that run nodes by utilizing your internet bandwidth, and indeed the DePin project seems to be on the rise several projects have run it.
Take for example Hivera [ https://x.com/Hivera_app ] (but I'm not promoting it).
Hivera has successfully raised $7M in funding and they only run on telegram bots to run nodes with (Bandwidth Sharing).
But it's not free you have to spend a lot of capital to join and earn a lot of points.
Its still in the early stages; I still don't know its potential, but compared to tap to earn, this concept is effortless; its like letting the machine work for you. I read three whitepapers and the roadmaps. This concept is very promising on paper, but let's see if investors will support it. I'm into Grass, nodepay and Meshchain there are many more, but I'm concentrating on these three and making shifts on the others.
I'm hoping this is not another hype.
The last few months I have been following the tap-tap game but the situation does not seem to be possible because there are too many users and even the hamster fomo is really crazy and I stopped it because I thought it was still not worth it with the results and now I also started following nodes and the results for my first nodes were quite good where there was $Grass which produced more than tap-tap.
But indeed now it seems that nodes are also starting to get a lot of fans and clearly this adds new competition again. I am still running several nodes now even though the intensity for the new nodes I am starting to follow but indeed the ones I have been running since the beginning I always continue until the end.
Phenomena like this sometimes become a situation that always repeats itself when something that is indeed new will continue to be attacked and its popularity begins to disappear over time and is replaced by other phenomena.
Why not? I think they don't have a limit of how much user they can accommodate. And in fact more user is actually better than less. But anyway, good thing that you also explore other earning opportunities like the OP and you got a better result. This is what they say that we should keep moving and keep on finding more/new opportunities. Most especially if the recent one we have is not doing well.
Yes, you should continue what you have started. This is always a better trait than if we just quit early even after a few failures. Just don't get disappointed on something. As they say nothing last forever, so there will always be another replacement which can be better than the previous one.
While I cheer you folks for being into Depin and sharing your internet unused bandwidth, everything doesn't come free nowadays. You share your bandwidth for something else that these projects reward you that they get from you as well. While it seems that there's a thought process that they're giving you a reward in return for running them but don't forget that they also get a thing or two from you. Well, no doubt that they're becoming the trend nowadays and the change of narrative from these tap tap projects to nodes where many are jumping to it.
Nodepay is launching in the next couple of days so we'd finally know if it was worth it for folks that farmed it. I've always been of the opinion that subsequent projects that follow the path of a successful project don't do so well. In this case, the successful projects preceding these newer ones is grass.
I'm very much looking forward to be shocked by nodepay when the launch goes live. Didn't farm none of these but will always wish the projects well because I have friends that did do them.
If you are sharing your bandwidth won't that lead to possible legal troubles etc just like running a Tor exit-node can?
People's illegal downloads tracking to your device?
Or do these services indemnify you of such responsibility, forcing legal actions to go direct to the real end-user?

I had a similar bad experience with those Mini app Telegram Airdrops. After grinding through tasks, spending time and even money I only felt scammed in the end, then I realized they are worthless too. The NodePay concept sounds way better, at least with running a node, theres something like value, and it seems less exploitative than those silly games. I was with Grass, but not Gradient, which is definitely catching my attention now. How does NodePay compare to those two?
Im curious about the points based system too, how long do you think it takes to turn those points into something meaningful?
nodepay is good, but I doubt it will be as good as grass though, too many people following the program thus the dilution but I still run it anyway, as long as it's airdrop that doesn't require grinding like tap to earn i'm fine, i missed grass because I don't really committed to running their extension, but we'll see how good nodepay will yield.
personally, I don't really believe on airdrop based on node, some might be a big jackpot, but most of the time, just waste of time and money buying the VPS and setting things up and all only to get peanut reward, but since nodepay just need simple setup, I guess it's worth it.
After the successful airdrops of notcoin and dogs, a lot of play to airdrop games started popping up on telegram. But from what Ive noticed, theyre not like the earlier ones where you didnt need to spend money. Back then, you just had to put in effort and time, and youd earn airdrops. Now, most of these telegram play to airdrop games require you to invest money..like buying stars or paying TON tokens to get more points. These act as boosts to increase your points. If you dont spend, youll be left behind and end up with only a small share of the airdrop.
Interesting to see NodePay and Gradient gaining traction. Passive bandwidth monetization like this is definitely more convenient than traditional airdrops. NodePay already has a strong base with 200k users and $7M funding, but it's important to watch out for data security and their business model.
Gradient also looks promising, but it still needs time to prove itself. With 10k points, you have a good shot if $NC takes off. Ive been running nodes for similar projects, and NodePay seems promising. Keep an eye on their roadmap and token utility!
What's up, my friend! I totally understand you, my finger is getting tired of tapping the Tap-to-Earn button on Telegram so much only to end up getting three pesos.
Not only getting small shares of the airdrop in most cases you will become automatically disqualified for not doing any of those like buying a Star or paying for a certain Ton token even if other criterias has been meet the one has that has not been met will place you out of the game and there will be no rewards for you and in worst other cases even after meeting up criterias you will still end up not getting a reward, preferably earlier days airdrops was indeed better of compared to when it was all over the place like a season.
I always worried about privacy with these kind of depin extension or program to share bandwidth. Is it really worth it to keep these program running with no clear rate for the point conversion?
What i mean is seeing from the previous DePin's TGEs, every single one of them has been disappointing and give peanut. You literally sacrifice a half year of privacy and bandwith or even more for a payout that you don't even know gonna be worth it.
