So there's this physical spot at 20 Cliff St, Milsons Point in Sydney. You can hop on a train to Milsons Point station and just take a quick walk from there.
Inside the hub, they've got some cool Bitcoin stuff on display with some explanations.
They also have some merch available.
Plus, there's a really awesome poster.
Check out their website for more info: https://sydneybitcoinhub.com
The launch event was super busy. Met a bunch of really interesting folks. If you're in Sydney, definitely swing by!

It's good for Bitcoin adoption but people who want to visit such places and join such events must know about risk of Bitcoin physical attacks.
It does not lead to any immediate Bitcoin physical attacks if they visit such places, join such events but knowing about risk is important. People can contribute to Bitcoin adoption in different ways, hosting such events is one of many ways, while learning about Bitcoin can be done in some good ways exclusively secret ways. People don't need to physically join such events for learning if they care more about privacy.
Physical Bitcoin attacks.

Excellent work, Op. Again, this poster would help to clear some lingering doubts of people about these individuals being Satoshi but I especially like the write-up of this person called Vil " I'm definitely not Satoshi, but I guess that's what Satoshi would say, isn't it?" That there would send more people for a loop because you're trying to clear your name and at the same time leaving the spotlight on you! Crazy!

It is really great to see this place - There are few bitcoin places around the world
And in general I believe that every "real world" exhibition deserve appreciation... likewise to say bitcoin is real, bitcoin is not only digital money
Are you involved in this project ? It could be possible to visit all year around or there are some opening times?
Subliminal messages all over But it's truly cool to see such a board in place.

This is impressive, at least we are seing more of corporate organization coming to adopt bitcoin and make it more relevant to their service by concentrating more on the acceptance in making payments, it's also serving as challenge to others yet to consider bitcoin because it could give them the maximum Protection needed from the centralized institutions under the financial system and government, folks in Sydney will be able to make their commercial activities using Bitcoin without a barrier.

only if they don't use said cexes to do all the stuff in the first place, but you are right - knowing about such an option and how to use it is the first block to be learnt by the new people especially

Why is this hub needed? What benefit does this hub "create"? To advertise bitcoin (and sell related merch)? Bitcoin hub will be perceived as some kind of tourist attraction, like Disneyland. By the way, why haven't they created a Bitcoinland yet (with the ability to buy ride tickets with bitcoin)?
I'm dubious about the value of this bitcoin hub. Why visit this place? To look at posters and the BTC-logo? But I'm not a BTC-tourist.
What practical benefit does visiting this place provide (besides entertainment and a little educational for newcomers)?
Hi everyone,
I am Alex the organiser for the Sydney Bitcoin Hub. Firstly, thanks for coming out Nullama and making a post about the launch event!
We didn't end up getting the website fully polished before launch so we'll continue to make improvements over the next couple of months. Please don't judge us too harshly based on this just yet!
The primary purpose of the bitcoin hub is as a coworking space for people working in/on bitcoin in Sydney or visiting from overseas. For example our team from Frostsnap will mostly be working from the hub (great opportunity to get some hardware devices in person!)
There's something special about being able to collaborate in person and having a range of people with different expertises and focuses in close proximity.
The secondary purpose is to have a physical venue to host meetups, bitdevs, and do educational outreach like hackathons, workshops and presentations as well as industry engagement.
We'll be open monday to friday during normal business hours as well as sometimes after hours and on weekends for special events which will be listed at bitcoinsydney.org or bitdevs.com.au
Anyone passing through should come visit and work from the hub for the day or even just drop in for a chat over lunch if you're in Sydney!
Additionally if you'd like to support this project, please sign up as a community sponsor!
