I can't stop cracking up. I found this post on x and ever since, I've been like... no way...🤣🤣🤣
So there's this bitcoin ATM, right? Some genius tried to steal it and broke it open looking for bitcoins😂😂
This has got to be one of the dumbest things I've seen in ages. I can't help but picture his face when he smashed the machine and realized there were no bitcoins inside. I can totally hear him saying, "Wait, where'd all the coins go?"
What do you all think about what happened?
This might be the funniest thing you'll see today

Maybe lack of the idea that Bitcoin is not some physical coin made him do it; he could probably be targeting the cash, which some could have used to make a Bitcoin purchase since some of the machines allow cash deposits, or the thief could also be thinking the keys can be found inside the machine. There might be a lot in his head before making that move of stealing that machine, not just getting the Bitcoin alone, but his disappointment will be on another level.
It was not an attempt to get bitcoin out, but possibly to get cash out.
Bitcoin ATMs have two purposes of buying bitcoin and selling bitcoin.
People can use cash to buy bitcoin at Bitcoin ATMs that mean there are cash in such ATMs.
I of course can not know exact purposes of that person but trying to get cash from the ATM is one of possible purposes.

Bruh.....
Talking of ignorance...
What do you insert in a Bitcoin ATM to get Bitcoins? Cash, right?
Seriously, lock this topic, it's funny, but definitely not the way you think it is!
There are many bitcoin ATM machines that you will take cash from bitcoin buyers so they will be generated a paper wallet which will contain private key and bitcoin address for the bitcoin that they bought with their cash. Although I do not think it is all bitcoin ATMs that will accept cash, but many of them are accepting cash.

For someone who is illiterate, hearing the word "Bitcoin" for the first time, what do you expect? And Bitcoin ATM exist? 😲 The first thing that will come to their mind is the coin 🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙 inside the ATM machine.
I gotta get is out somehow, I wouldn't expect less from such people, this can also happen in my country, there are people who have asked me where the Bitcoin is, like they are asking for a coin to see how it looked like, and the moment I said it's digital they said naaah.
Like it's worthless then. Lol.

That's what I taught when I first read the topic, I mean why troll the dude? Bitcoin ATM do allow cash deposit option when you want to purchase Bitcoin which the buyers gets to put dollars bill inside the machine so there is every possibility that the thief would have been thinking about the cash that people must have deposited in trying to buy Bitcoin so that's a valid thought I suppose.
I think stompix clear circle ⭕ out where cash are to deposit inside the Bitcoin ATM machine so give the dude a break 😁 atleast give him some credit of his boldness to carry out such wild plan .
If all it ever sold was Bitcoin without taking physical cash... then it wouldn't need to be that big or intimidating, no? Think you unwittingly trolled yourself, Fivestar haha. Don't worry, we all did it to ourselves at some point.
The old joke though is most people heist an ATM not knowing just how hard it is to get the cash out.
P.S. I've seen this photo or similar from many years ago.
Unless the culprit was really that stupid to have thought that he can get some physical Bitcoin out of that machine, I can make a guess that he definitely has other motives for stealing that machine, if the machine was still functional while he was with it, he might have inserted some cash into the machine and buy a lot of Bitcoin with his cash, transfer the Bitcoin to his own wallet and then steals the machine to go and extract his cash out from the machine. I'm just guessing tho, cuz I think something like that is possible.
I can't stop laughing as well. Well, it can only mean one thing. That the thief has no knowledge of Bitcoin being a digital currency. What he has in mind is to see a physical, solid coin in the ATM.
I thought thieves were smarter than this. Simple research on the internet before embarking on this mission he can't carry out. I can't fathom this. Perhaps Dr.Bitcoin_Strange was right. The person who stole this may have another motive for doing so.

Very hilarious indeed but is it true should be the main issue too. That's just an image of a supposedly Bitcoin ATM on a platform, there is no other indications in the image no other information and I have also clicked the link to the x post and still no real story just same image and captions.
I have learnt to not trust news on social media that has no indepth story or logical truth behind it, many social media accounts wants engagement and they can spin any story to get attention.
In between if there is any real link to the story It would be better.
I'm imagining how disappointed the thief will feel after smashing it open and not seeing not even a "coin" of Bitcoin.
He'll be like "wait, where are the Bitcoins". Now, He must have unintentionally learnt that despite being highly valued, Bitcoin is an intangible property that's digitally exchanged.
That said, the thief might probably be targeting cash inside the machine as against our assumption of Bitcoin. There are many Bitcoin ATMs that actually hold cash because people deposit fiat to buy Bitcoin in exchange. There are some Bitcoin ATMs that also allow cash withdrawals in exchange for Bitcoin.
Either way, I think the thief is ignorant of Bitcoin, that's why he put all of that energy that didn't end well.
Well I think the jokes on the OP. The thief has so many taught to make his move, I mean have it occurred to you that Bitcoin ATM machine do need cash for you to get your hands on Bitcoin? So what if the motive was to get the cash out of there ? I don't think he went after the machine to get out some Bitcoin, there is no one that stupid to think that after all most of all the ATM robberies are purely base on the fact that the cash is the main target .
I think its just a click bait to get attention on twitter and OP fell for it. Criminals are bad people, yes, but Im pretty sure they would do their research before stealing a bitcoin ATM. OP, you do know that there is cash in bitcoin ATMs right? Maybe thats what the thief was trying to steal.
I can't stop laughing either. Ignorance is a disease. Someone should pray they don't be ignorant of something that will make them act and think like a fool.
To this person, he has succeeded in stealing the Bitcoin machine. This will strike him very hard, as he won't find a single Satoshi out of it, to his wasted time and effort to be in vain. I can imagine what the look on his face will be like

One thing I will say about this post and where it's source is that this is an example of how narratives are wrongly pushed most times. The first person who brought the image to social media used it to pass on a wrong message out of his own ignorance or just because he felt like doing it and the op did not even give it a second thought same view used by that X user is a same way the op looked at it and in conclusion the criminal who stole the bitcoin ATM becomes a joke for such stealing decision but in reality the criminal might have already gotten what he went after and not the bitcoin the op and the X user thought he went for.

It could be that he is not targeting bitcoin but cash that many people deposit into the ATM to buy bitcoin, these thieves may think that his money at the ATM is more.
It is not clear the source, though I would like to see other comments if it comes from X.
I do not know if the thieves are stupid, or we who interpret in this ATM there is only bitcoin course so his thinking to it.

Indeed, this shows the highest level of ignorance and stupidity displayed at once. Because to be honestly speaking, I literally can't stop laughing after reading the content of this thread. Lolz... It's indeed really funny for my liking. And it's obvious this guy might have been breaking bank A.T.M which has cash in it and went away with those cashes. And when he or she heard about Bitcoin A.T.M, he or she might have applied the same mentality that if he breaks it, he is going to see lots of Bitcoin in it, but to his greatest surprise, he found nothing. Forgetting the fact that Bitcoin is a digital currency and not physical which can be seen or touched. Because what is robber just displayed is just like when you are watching a cooking video, and when the chef is done cooking and about to it on the television, you break into it wanting to collect the food. Lolz.. you will see absolutely nothing but cables. So in a nutshell, this was really funny.

Saw something like this before, some guys broke in to a shop, put chains around the ATM and dragged it with their car out of the shop. They stole the ATM, thinking they could extract physical Bitcoin from the machine or something. It was like 10 years ago though, the story I saw.

Ignorant is a curse that is in form of a spirit telling people that have been inflicted by it never to use their brain again.
The word ATM may be the reason that made them to hijack it thinking it must be money.
If they are wise after finding out that there was not money inside, they should have asked questions around the would Bitcoin.
At least asking about the meaning of Bitcoin and why there was no money in the ATM must have given them a new knowledge about how they can send and receive money using Bitcoin. Those that are not ready to ask questions and seek an answer to questions that are bothering them must be doing themselves harm that can make them foolish and irrational.
