Always keep an eye out for better chances, but don’t let it bring you down. Do you really get what I mean by that? As humans, we naturally want to improve our lives, and that's totally normal. But have you stopped to think about whether you’re actually happy or not? How much cash do you think you need to feel happy? Can happiness even be measured in dollars? Are you regretting where you’re at right now?
Quit the regret train; it’s time to find joy. When I say 'learn to be happy,' I mean you need to find satisfaction within yourself. We need money to meet our needs, but is there a limit to what you want? Have you managed your cravings for more? If you don’t keep those in check, you won’t find satisfaction. And without that satisfaction, happiness is out of reach. Your happiness hinges on your aspirations.
If you’ve got a million bucks but your sights are set on becoming a billionaire, you’ll never find happiness. Chasing that billionaire dream means you’ll always feel like you’re falling short. Sure, dreaming big is fine; it’s cool to seek out better opportunities. But you’ve got to learn to appreciate what you already have and accept the situation as it is. That’s the only way to find true happiness.
I kinda understand what you meant, like having some level of self contentment or just contentment in general..being able to see good in every situation and being appreciative even though you can still continue striving for better things.
When you dont appreciate the little youve got, youll definitely be unhappy.
That is sure part of being human, sometimes money doesnt guarantee happiness..your contentment does.
That is a sure thing, in the process of learning to be happy youll need to learn how to be contented and appreciative of the little you have.
A very well-put example! If the Millionaire is contented with his wealth then hell definitely be happy and if he doesnt have contentment he might even become a billionaire and still not be happy..maybe a new aspiration of becoming the richest person on earth will struck him.
Thats why the wealthiest or richest people arent always the happiest they have all the money but that feeling of I need more .
Is this about how important it is to be grateful for what we have or what we currently possess? Living life without being overly obsessed with the goals or dreams we want to achieve. We live life to the fullest while still enjoying the life we lead.
Personally, I have been in a position where I was not satisfied with my financial situation. however, I then realized that I must remain grateful for what I have, especially regarding my health and family harmony. After I started being grateful for what I had, thats when all my businesses started running more smoothly than before. At first, I thought it was just a coincidence. but it turns out there is a theory that connects gratitude with bringing ease to the path we are on and other things in our lives. And only those who are grateful are always content and happy.
It's part of human nature to be constantly pursuing new things. All the satisfaction you have is temporary, and as soon as you get bored with the current stage you are, you will start wishing more and more. Like philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer said: Life is a constant oscillation between the desire to have and the boredom of possessing.
I guess we can't escape that cycle. And it's actually a good thing, since it confers movement and fluidity to life. As we know, nothing can stay idle in existence. Everything is transforming in real time. Those who try to avoid or forbid it from happening end ill. So I guess we have to learn how to adapt ourselves to this movement of life.
Regards money and the art of being satisfacted, it's about understanding money by itself can't bring happiness. It's what you do with money which can reward you for real. People who just want to accumulate money for nothing are actually lost in life or doing escapism.
Not exactly to be grateful but to realize that happiness is in the pursuit for it. No one is fully satsfied whatever how many he earns and how much he posses. We still enjoy our lives each one with his own unique condition.
Choose delayed gratification over the instant ones, which solves most of the money problems that come to an individual because we need money just to buy something that we want even though it is not necessary for us to live our life comfortably. One who drive Toyota will be interested in buying a Porche while both does the same thing for us with not much difference.
Save money> invest money> Make more money and repeat.
There is a thin line between contentment and ambition. They are mutually exclusive. You can be content and still be ambitious. The fact that you want more out of life does not mean you're not content with what you have or have achieved. You can still be very happy with where you are in life, but still want more.
I don't totally agree with this part. The fact that a person is a millionaire, and his dream is to be a billionaire doesn't stop him from being happy. He can only be unhappy if he ties his happiness to being a billionaire. When he whispers to himself things like "I will be happy when I become a billionaire".
It's okay to want more or to achieve more, but know that you can be happy even without achieveing it or before achieving it.
We just need to realise that our happiness is not tied to what we achieve because there i salways something higher to achieve. So if you tie your happiness to your achivemnet then, you might never be truly happy.
Greed has been a driving factor for many persons today, that they jump into any new investment without giving it a thought but just to double their funds is the goal. Some end up losing much more than intended because of greed and the absence of contentment.
Most good and pleasant things come to use when we are happy and content in our own lane, and not when we jump from one lane to the other because we want to be like others in order to get rich quick.
When we do our research and increase our knowledge base on a subject matter of interest with the potential for wealth returns like Bitcoin, we find it easy to multiply our funds if we use proper investment techniques instead of using or listening to brokers that are fake and have other schemes up their sleeves.
Mate, there is hard science behind your word. If I talk about my family condition when my income increases, all of my family members happiness also increases, it is right. But the real problem is on our skyhigh desires and expectation. If you keep increasing your goals and are never satisfied, you will never have peace of mind even if your income increases
My feelings are that people who take control of their own happiness are more at peace. So instead of always chasing big goal, it is wise to be happy with what you have and focus on thing that are under your control. It make our mind light before the pocket become wealthy
I have always told everyone one thing, that people are basically unhappy. Because people's needs are constantly changing, For example from my life when I was young, when I didn't have a bicycle, I used to regret seeing other people's bicycles. Then when I bought a bicycle, I was no longer happy with bicycles. Now I want to buy a motorbike. Similarly when I didn't have a mobile phone, I thought that if I had a mobile phone I would be the happiest person in the world but now I don't like using a mobile phone anymore, So I think happiness is relative. The less your needs are, the happier you are. Another thing is that yes money is absolutely necessary and money is limited to meeting your daily needs. Then happiness depends on your needs.
The poor thinks that riches will buy them happiness but the rich ain't happy because they're not satisfied with their riches and want more. You need to be poor in spirit before you can be contented with what you have in order for you to be satisfied. Happiness prolongs your life because you think less since you have little to worry about and appreciate life the way things are for you at that moment.
There's a verse in proverb that says 'it's better to have a dinner of vegetables with happiness than having a dinner of slaughtered cow with hatred. Happiness brings peace of mind and positive thinking and positive energy.
You are very correct, some people have deprive themselves of happiness because they have a dream they have not achieved, it is not bad to dream big dreams, but dont allow that your big dream to disturb or destroy your happiness. The major reason we want to achieve a particular statues in life is because we believe that, the status or that achievement we make us happy, so meaning the sour reason why you are wanting to achieve what you are dreaming of is because you want to be happy, so why you are pushing happiness dont destroy the one you have presently because if you do that, you will end up not living a life of purpose and you may be depressed. Thank God for the one you have, enjoy it and be happy with it, because some persons wants to achieve your success or your current status.
Nice thread however I believe it should in politics and society board.
If a person really wants to be happy, he should be satisfied with what he has, just think about the fact that you are typing this text, you have hands. There are many people in the world who do not have hands, think again that you have a roof under your head, just like there are people in the world who do not have a roof under their head and no place to live. You can be happy only when you notice those who have less than you. We humans have endless needs.
Whoever has a bicycle, he wants to buy a bike, and if he has a bike, he wants to buy a car, so people keep increasing their needs over time. But if he is satisfied with what he has, then he would have a comfortable sleep at night. These unnecessary needs in our life are becoming the reason for ruining our comfortable sleep. If we do not think about what others have, but pay a little attention to what we have, and think a little about them, then only our life will become prosperous and beautiful
Im happy at all the stages of my journey. I had fun when I didnt have a job, had fun when I had a job, I enjoyed myself when I started my business and still loving every bit of it. My point is you can choose to enjoy all the stages of your life. You dont have to wait till all the pieces come together.
The content of the posts is preaching gratitude and satisfaction irrespective of what you have, what you intend to achieve and where you are.In form of building money or chasing your ambitions, contentment is crucial and needs validity. You can grow with gratitude, you can build wealth and still be ambitious without losing your sense of contentment.
Happiness is not measured by the amount of money we have or the amount we hoped to get but it is measured by the ability of appreciating the little we have. This analysis you made here is simply the reason people don't get satisfied in Life. People
Always want to get to a certain level they desire before they can count themselves as satisfied, and this will make them not satisfied if they don't meet that Target and I largely agree with you. Take for instance I want to hit $1m before I can be happy as I expected. Because it means that for the rest of my life I may not be happy because my target may never be met. So we need to appreciate the little things before we can start appreciating the bigger one, as it is often said that if we don't appreciate small thing the, Big things can never be appreciated.
That is easier said than done for some people. If you are stuck in a dead end, minimum wage job and struggling to make ends meet - it is natural for a bit of unhappiness to set in. However there are lots of opportunities out there and you really need to make things happen for yourself, put yourself into new situations that might seem scary at first but can open up many more chances for the future. It's also worth considering your lifestyle, it's repeated often but you need to get an exercise routine and eat healthily if you want to feel content. You cannot just do one or two of these things, because to feel fully rounded you need to be making an effort in many different areas. Aim to push your current limits, knowledge and boundaries a little bit further every week.
Trust me, I have been there. There is this book I read many years ago that helped me and I would love to share it here; "The Magic" by Rhonda Byrne. It teaches you how to be show gratitude for everything youve in life. Many people are so obsessed with the idea of a better life that they dont even appreciate what they have right now. They spend their days chasing things and constantly remind themselves of what they dont have.
I think the key to happiness is being grateful for what you have now and taking a break from worrying about the future. This doesn't mean eliminating your ambition to achieve specific goals, but sometimes taking a break from worrying about the future can allow you to enjoy each moment more.
You can prepare everything well to work and earn millions of dollars, for example. Others may do the same, but the fact is that only a small percentage actually succeed. Simply put, when you are grateful and do not place your happiness solely on material things, you will be able to experience happiness. Meanwhile, today social media has influenced many people through various trends, and I think one of the reasons many people are unhappy right now is because of the distractions caused by social media.
If we can dream, then let's dream big as it's always free, do not settle on those dreams that aren't challenging and life-changing at all. But never forget how to be grateful, and be contented on your current achievements. One can only feel the real happiness if he chose to be contented even on small things.
However, let's not stop dreaming, let's not stop growing, let's not stop seizing bigger opportunities that comes our way. Money cannot guarantee long term happiness, but being contented and grateful for even small achievements will result into bigger achievements and satisfaction later on.
