I'm looking to get into crypto but I'm not really sure where to start. Bitcoin’s taking a dip right now, so maybe that’s a good buy? The problem is I don't have a lot of cash to invest. I'm thinking about smaller coins instead, but I’m lost on which ones to pick.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. What coins do you think I should consider investing in with my limited budget?
What crypto should I invest in right now?

Over the years, Bitcoin have always proved to be the most valuable asset among others in the crypto space and no other comes close. And In the case of having little money to invest with isnt a problem at all once it comes to bitcoin investment, you mustnt buy all the coin, as the DCA method of accumulating bitcoin is to enable you accumulate bitcoin little by little either on a weekly or monthly basis using just your discretionary income no matter the price of bitcoin. Invest now and be consistent in your accumulation and hodl for the long term goal and gradually build up your portfolio.
Dude, you are off to a good start because you've done the most important thing: researching before making a impulse purchase and look for the best place to get information... here in bitcointalk.
I understand your doubt... it's common for inexperienced people, and I ask you: is your goal long-term? If so, then BTC remains the best choice because its already consolidated, plenty of liquidity, security and global recognition. The fact that it's falling is an excellent buyng opportunity, because the golden rule is this: buy low to profit later with a higher price.
And as you probably know, with Bitcoin, you donot need to buy a whole BTC, so even with little capital, you can buy $100 or even $10 worth of BTC. If you have $1,000 I recommend of buying $500 now and the rest later. Divide your contributions into smaller amounts and do so regularly, regardless of the price. This way, you reduce the risk of getting in at the top and lower your "average ticket."
Since you are here then obviously the best asset to buy is Bitcoin. Although there could be questions like what is your investment goal? Or are you looking for long or short term? With low capital then the best approach is to buy thru DCA method.
You can read everything about it:
DCA: the power of little beginning
DCA vs Smart DCA, what do you choose?
So best of luck in your approach, just remember that most of us started here with nothing or little and we just grow our Bitcoin investment with this kind of attack.

You should not invest any coins at this point, what you need to invest is time and knowledge. You should not rush into investing when your knowledge is 0 and you should not invest based on other people's advice because no one can guarantee anything for you.
Investing without knowledge is like gambling, and I think you know the consequences of gambling, right? So instead of wandering around forums or social media looking for advice on what coins to invest in. Take the time to learn and accumulate knowledge first, because when you have knowledge you will know what to do and where to invest to bring profit.
Don't worry about missing out because as long as the market exists, opportunities will always be there and it's never too late to invest.
Wait a minute! You said Bitcoin is down and you're just about to invest. Isn't that a good thing? Every investor wants a low price right? So you shouldn't overthink it and just make that purchase. If you don't have enough equity there's a DCA strategy. Simply buy regularly weekly or monthly according to the nominal amount you can afford. Furthermore I don't recommend investing in assets other than Bitcoin, as Bitcoin has proven to be reliable.

You can also buy Bitcoin with low capital because not everyone needs a large initial capital to buy Bitcoin for investment purposes, although having a large capital is also better for those who want to buy. But for now, you don't need to worry about finding a coin worth investing in with a low price target because Bitcoin is currently not falling, even though there is a slight difference in price from the highest price reached this month. So, you won't go wrong if you want to buy Bitcoin now, although you might want to consider some other coins in the top ten based on trading volume.
In terms of speculation, of course everyone has a different understanding of determining the best crypto assets or types of crypto that they use or choose, yes we can understand it, it is all based on beliefs in each individual.
I do not dare to suggest you, because the crypto that I show for you is no guarantee for you and all the things that are done in the crypto market can be at risk for you in financial terms.
For this reason, in terms of my own personality for the speculation of assets/types of crypto, my beliefs are only three for the future.
1. Bitcoin.
2. Ethereum.
3. BNB.
Only three of my personal speculations, of course other people have different views with me, it's all up to you in the best way for yourself, especially in investment.

fuck crypto .. and fuck shitcoin, they have no potential for long term usage. when thinking about an asset for investment, bitcoin should be the first thing that should come on your mind.
you dont have to bother if bitcoin is dip or not. just buy with what you can afford to lose with your discretion fund. there is no need to get yourself worked up hence bitcoin has been doing pretty well for over 16 years now. so weather you buy bitcoin on dip, DCA or lump sum, you surely have nothing to lose, because over time you must make profit. but the fact is that you must develop the mindset of long term and not taken profit too early. you cant use simply because you dont have enough discretion and say you will settle for less. those that chose that way came back crying, and hope you will not do the same. instead of going for shitcoin because of low discretion fund, its better to invest with the little you have on bitcoin and avoid wasting money on honeypots.
i will advise you to invest on bitcoin over and over and over again.
if you are finding it difficult to invest or looing for the best strategy to adopt, i will advice you to look into this thread. a lot of conversation has taken place there concerning bitcoin investment, and i will encourage you to join the conversation as to grab the little you can because i may not explain everything in full, but with the help of active participation you will learn alot.
Buy the Dip and HODL
I don't have any other coins to recommend you because if there are other coins that's very certain to do as Bitcoin I would have definitely invested but unfortunately I have not meet any coin as good as Bitcoin so on this note the investment worthy to educate someone is Bitcoin, don't allow a small capital to affect you into thinking that you cannot invest on Bitcoin because in business even if you cannot open big but with small money you can use it to effect action and gradually other money will be coming and you starts adding to it so actually you can still do this in Bitcoin, don't allow yourself to be scared on what you are seeing in Bitcoin because those other coins is not anyway better.
YOU don't need the total worth of a Bitcoin for you to be able to invest in Bitcoin, with the little you have, you can invest in Bitcoin and still make profits like every other person is doing and yes now that Bitcoin is experiencing a deep is the best time to get in on Bitcoin with buying some fragment of Bitcoin which you are going to HOLD for awhile after which you will make some profits on.
If I'm to make a recommendation on an asset you should invest in, i will recommend that you invest in Bitcoin and and not the Alt coins because with most of them you may just be gambling, but with Bitcoin you have got some level of security with your asset because Bitcoin is decentralized and controlled by no one so you can be sure to a very good extent that there is not going to be some forms of manipulation with your asset but with those other Altcoin they may get manipulated and that may affect your portfolio.
Honestly, you can think of any coin you want to buy, but if I can give advice, choose Bitcoin as the main asset you hold, because Bitcoin has proven to have great potential in the present and future, even large institutions have begun to accumulate Bitcoin, further adding to the belief that there will be a bright future for those who hold it in the long run.
Now all you have to do is buy it, buy it with the DCA method, either with discretionary funds or reserve funds that you have, keep your investment by continuing to buy and buy, someday in the future you will get the benefits of what you are striving for today.
Equity has always been the reason why many people didnt invest earlier when they should even when the price was very low that time. They claim to not have enough to enter the market and they tend to want to wait to gather the money together before they invest, not knowing that theyre only allowing that previous and best time to invest to pass them by. The market is volatile and will continue to grow in either directions without waiting for you to be filled up and start your investment in it.
This then even brought about the DCA method which is the Dollar Cost Averaging technique where you get to invest at price intervals of bitcoin irrespective of what the price of bitcoin is at that time, this helped many who dont have enough money on them hold some amount of bitcoin and overtime without them even noticing, they did accumulated a large amount of bitcoin. Bitcoin is still the best to invest into, no matter what the price could be at that time.
BTC.
Big or low capital that you have, you're in a better situation by choosing it. Having that thinking that you have lesser capital and you're resorting to choose some altcoins might be a good idea to you and the others who likes to bag altcoins.
But in a sense of it that most altcoins have greater volatility than bitcoin, you might want to think about it again. If you're going to listen to most of us saying bitcoin, congratulations.
BTC for beginners and for everyone.

It is just as simple as you have explained to OP, even with little funds Bitcoin can still be acquired with the DCA strategy of course. It is obvious that Bitcoin is the only coin standing tall over the years even with its volatile nature you can still invest and make profit on the long term goal, Bitcoin's price has been on the rollercoaster as usual and I would still buy and hodl without any fear of being in the losing side Bitcoin has proven itself Worthy over the years and in the crypto space no other asset comes close to Bitcoin. @OP just buy Bitcoin and hodl and you will make cool profits in the long run.
Bitcoin is also a cryptocurrency and is an important part of this industry, whether you want to admit it or not. . Also, there are many coins that have been around for a long time and have brought huge profits to many people, even if you don't want to admit it.
Although bitcoin is the most trusted and investable currency, if OP has no knowledge and only invests based on other people's advice. He should also not invest in bitcoin, because without knowledge he cannot hold it until he makes a profit.
Don't invest in something you don't understand, and just because you invest in a good asset doesn't mean you'll make a profit from it. Because profits are determined by the investor's knowledge.

Why not, you can get Bitcoin at a lower price than previously traded. Bitcoin is the best asset for you, Bitcoin resilience has been proven for years and its price continues to increase over time. Small capital is not a reason for you to choose other coins because Bitcoin can be broken down into small units (Sat), the flexibility that Bitcoin has allows you to buy several small units of "Sat" according to the capital you have. I can't recommend any other coin (besides Bitcoin) that is worth investing in because we currently have the best assets and have strong fundamentals in the market.
The real question which you have to answer first is, Do you really want to invest or you are looking for fast means of multiplying your income? the answer to this will tell if you should go ahead with buying bitcoin regardless of it current price or not. by investing you are saying, i am buying bitcoin and i am not selling it but rather adding more chunk to it till a set out time. if this is not your mentality, then you are not going to be fruitful in your investment even if you buy bitcoin now. i would not recommend another asset outside of bitcoin in this context since to start with you do not have enough capital and most of the coins you might get recommendation of don't have the potential that bitcoin has. if you are able to, you can put the fund in bitcoin since we are at least a bit certain that you fund is secured to a large extent. it might look like a little way of starting but in the long run, it will yield a return that will make a lot of sense.
It means you know about bitcoin but don't want to invest in it because you think it won't be able to give you big returns and make you rich quickly. Right? And you are looking for coins that grow fast and bring big profits? If that is what you are looking for, I think you will not be able to get the answer and no one can answer it for you.
I can't answer either because I don't know which coin does that, but I want to tell you, the higher the return, the greater the risk. If you want to get rich quick, you must also be willing to take risks and possibly lose everything you have. Everything has its price, you cannot expect an investment to make you rich quickly with a small capital without risk.
Never think of buying shitcoins to gain profit in a short time. You lack knowledge, and the potential to lose your money with little effort will be very high. Save your money and make regular Bitcoin purchases. No matter how high the price is, do it consistently in the long term, and you will enjoy the results in the future. The more you search for shitcoin information, the more you will get trapped there to lose your money.
