I want to kickstart an interactive chat about what really motivates wealthy folks to keep chasing after more money.
These people are super driven when it comes to making cash. You often see in the news how some well-known rich person is launching a new venture. They're always on the go, looking for fresh ways to boost their income. So what’s the real deal behind their hustle?
Is it all about competition? Maybe they're trying to outdo each other, but I've heard that at the top there isn't really any competition.
Or is it more about the fear of falling back into poverty? That could definitely be a strong reason to keep grinding for more.
What about discipline? Perhaps they've just gotten into the habit of finding ways to increase their wealth, and after achieving success, they don’t know how to take a break.
Then there’s the whole lifestyle thing. With the huge bills they face, like maintaining private jets and yachts, maybe they feel pressured to keep raking in money to support that lifestyle.
What do you all think? Any other reasons come to mind?
Gender matters.
If it's married men, they either forced by their partners who can't be grateful or they want to have many partners. Women are fine to be mistress or side chick as long as they got paid enough.
If it's women (single or married), they like to showoff/seeking validation and want to life with luxury lifestyle.
Single men won't push themselves really hard except they have a purpose to get married in the future, single men can life in minimum and no problem with that, they're not really want to seek wealthy.
First, there are so much opportunities around us but it takes only a man that has the financial capacity to leverage on those opportunity and that is where the wealthy people comes in. The average person will see an opportunity and do nothing about it due to lack of resource but the rich and sensible person will tap into that opportunity due to availability of resource. this is the reason why the Rich get richer while the poor remain poor.
Same way the poor desires to live a life that is above their means, the wealthy also desires something more and that pushes them to go even higher in starting up new business and investing into new sectors. Some will want to get power and so, will opt for business that will yield more money and carter for their political aspiration. that is another driving force that keeps the wealthy hungry for more.
A wealthy man that becomes too comfortable with what he already has will soonest find himself struggling to maintain that status.
We all know that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer; this is what happens as time goes by. And in this day and age, many are struggling to survive
because it is not easy to make money.
That's why there are also many women these days, even minors, who sell their bodies for money. They don't care if their sexual partner is old, as long as it's easy money for them.
And some will even go for someone who is old and ugly, as long as they have money or are rich, just to get their desires or luxuries.
This discussion should be interesting. About the same as if "bald" people discussed "hairy".
Probably the same feelings that drive, for example, gamblers - to get pleasure from overcoming the next "step". For gamblers - it's a win, and for the rich - a successful\profitable deal. I doubt that they are driven only by the desire to earn (the money itself), because they do not need money.
Dominance is an element of any competition, i.e. the desire to feel\realize oneself as better than others.
I don't think so, because negative motivation works worse than positive. And the fact that the rich are rich shows that they are successful, and therefore it is more likely that their motivation was positive.
I think this is closer to the truth, since the rich could have developed a habit of living at the pace of life they are accustomed to (earning a lot).
I don't think we can find one "right" answer, because the success of the rich must be influenced by a combination of factors, not just one single reason.
This condition occurs not only in women but also in men. Many young men today are lazy to work, instead they spend money and time focusing on how to have a nice body (firm, flexible, 6-pack abs). They then hang out in nightclubs, or join secret social media groups looking for wealthy widows.
It can be said that the world is becoming very pragmatic as more and more people do not want to work hard but still want to be rich, and they do not hesitate to use any tricks to achieve that, including selling their bodies.
Money is the scoreboard, not the game. What pushes the wealthy, in my experience:
-- Scorekeeping: once basic needs are done, the goal shifts to beating yesterday's number or a rival's chart. The target keeps moving.
-- Control and autonomy: building things buys the ability to say no. That chase is addictive.
-- Problem addiction: some folks just like hard puzzles. Companies are infinite boss levels.
I advised a founder who swore he'd stop at 10M. At 10M he said 25M. At 25M he said one more product cycle. It was never the cash; it was the next release and the team depending on him.
You're creating your own fantasy.
Most of wealthy widows choose to life in luxury over spending money for young men, those young men who focusing to have a nice body only have a purpose to fuck women (including widows), most men are willing to dot that without getting paid.
If those young men want to live comfortable without need to work, pretty sure they have a sugar daddy aka gay instead of a sugar mommy.
Humans want more even if he has many things already. The hunger of having much more will not stop them from making more sources of income. They want to become the richest person in the world so they will create more and more sources that can produce them wealth. I don't know if that is competition among the richest people but all people, not just rich people but also poor people want to be wealthy. The other things that can push these people are greed. They want to get more and more without thinking that it is enough for them. They want to eat a bigger portion than others.
The kind of wealth your referring to from your write up, can only get easy if you have a government backing, most business owners within the ranges of having Pj's and Yatch are mostly government contractors who are well connected within the seat of power, although there are genuine ones who are diligent within their hard work. One of the major things that pushes the wealthy is their drive to succeed especially when they see the opportunity, they utilize it at all cause, making the best out of it, that's why they stand tall among their pairs.
The more wealth we grow the more desire we have on wanting bigger things thats why rich keep pursuing on getting rich.
Also competition to other rich person just to save their social status for being on the top is another good factor that you brought up on this thread.
Its more on human greed what makes rich wants more than they have.
To answer your question, it all depends on circumstances, background, and lifestyle.
However, some people become wealthy by inheriting wealth from parents who are intelligent, disciplined, and trained to generate wealth and manage their finances effectively. Their wealth grows through habits and hard work instilled from an early age.
These are the people who are most focused on building a business or other means of generating consistent income, and these habits are passed down to the next generation.
Another thing that pushed them is there expensive lifestyle because if you are living a live of buying anything with bigger amount you would want to do something that would make the money not to stop coming, the second one I believe should be there because of how the setback could be if not controlled well is the fear of becoming poor because if money is not giving a purpose there is no multiplication for it no matter how the person think about it and stead it will increasingly be diminishing as the person is touching it so actually this is the things they see that makes them to hunger for more money even if they still have a lot.
Wealth already is ascertained by investing on resourceful assets that can generate substantial earnings through which sources is diversified to maximize incomes inflows for a long term.
But if we have to talk about the stroke and aspirations that arrives the rich getting richer is all to secure and strengthens their substantial net worths so as they don't go broke or experiences devaluation of their bankrolls.
Of course once tasted riches will always love to keep it up or even acquires more while only those who understand that the influence of economy evolution will always have stashes of intrinsic assets to back their values against inflations and never feel relented that the multi millions of their savings is ever enough to sustain them in the long term.
Infact, the signature behind building mutil million wealths is the create a handwritten wealthy inheritance for their families or lineage. So, you have to invest aggressively so that your wealths can cover a wider range to also have effect on people around you and not just about providing the heaven and the earth treasures die yourself alone.
It is true that when the basic needs of people are met for survival, new needs gradually increase. People like to live a luxurious life and try to earn more and more money to make their dreams come true and not to be poor. over time, people's needs and dreams increase, when one dream is fulfilled, they move towards another dream. The main reason why people's wants will always increase is that the environment and the quality of life change over time, along with changes in technology and mentality, new needs are created among people and this is why a person tries to earn more money.
Everyone has what drives them, some it's their kids, spouse, responsibilities and just ways to keep on surviving, whether we like it or not we are in constant competition in life not necessarily with anyone but that's just how the world works. What's considered to be someone's peak achievement in life is someone else's starting point. There's nothing like having too much money, you need to keep on pushing
Essentially, everyone wants to be better every day, to be more responsible for their families, and to ensure they lack nothing in the future. Sometimes truly wealthy people also have a personal ambition to expand their influence in all fields, not just to maintain their wealth for a long time. They also compete, but their style is more like a division of power. Perhaps only a few wealthy people have a mindset like that of an author, where they write books that can be used by many people without expecting a proportional reward.
This is called business. Tell me, once you have the amount of money that satisfies your needs, what will be your next desire? Rich people are people who have received everything from life and have great opportunities to fulfill their desires, but in addition to this, they become rich because they understand perfectly well that the money received from their business should always work. The word "always" here means an engine that constantly brings profit. Any capital should not lie as a dead weight. I do not see any competition or anything else here, but I see smart actions to continue and increase their capital.
Lack of another purposes in life, so they focus all their energy in making more money, even though they don't really need it.
They are just doing a compensation. For an example, since I'm frustrated on family/affective affairs, and I don't have any hopes in achieving what I would like on this matter, I put all my time and energy on work and investments, in an attempt to not suffer due to that frustration.
I guess humans are constantly doing that. Some compensate with drugs and become addicted, others do this with food and get obese, and there are those who focus on money and end wealthy...
Contentment is good but at the same time you shouldn't settle for the level you have attained because there are more grounds to conquer and more to achieve to life. They say the rich keep on getting richer that's because they don't stop working hard, having a few millions doesn't meant that you can't go broke...What propels the wealthy most times is the thought of falling back to being broke and also making sure that their kids don't struggle
