  • Ceph and ZFS are totally different things, man. Ceph is more of a data storage system that operates on devices directly, while ZFS is a traditional filesystem. Running Ceph means it takes over entire drives, just FYI.

  • Yeah, I moved from TrueNAS to Proxmox a while back. TrueNAS just didn’t work well for me, especially with self-hosting services. Proxmox is way easier. I’m using ceph for VM images and have another NAS doing some ZFS…
