Do you know anyone who managed to learn trading and actually made a profit in six to twelve months?
I'm curious if that person had any background or knowledge in trading alternatives that helped them out.
Also, while they were picking up trading skills during that half a year or year, did they have a full-time job, run a business, or were they just fully committed to learning trading nonstop?
Please share whatever you can. I want to figure out if this is possible or just some hype.
There are many traders on this forum. It is better you direct the question to them directly. To know the duration of time they learned about trading and when they started to make money from trading.
I guess if most people will be truthful, most traders are losing money. The reason is because they are not patient and they did not also focus on how to avoid losing money than making profit while trading.
Yeah, my friend from highschool that turned out to become an influencer and tells people learn trading through her.
Honestly speaking, to become a profitable trader. It won't only require you a year or so. It will take you a lot of money and time to actually learn and be disciplined.
That is possible even if you are an office guy. Use your spare time after office to learn trading but you need to be committed on it and will have to deal with several losses.
Even if we keep on saying that trading is never an easy job, but I know there are still highly profitable traders here who earn exceptional amount from trading even if they have only spend couple of months learning trading. Some maybe employed, but majority are definitely spending a lot of time in the learning process, thats why the outcome also end up excellent.
However, it requires knowledge, strategy, psychology and discipline to make the best trading experience. And I would say, patience is the best virtue. You will only have your best trading outcome if you wait patiently for the right set up before deciding to trade.
Personally I will say that learning trading is not a month something , for me a basic newbie who wants to start trading will definitely not be able to get it all done. You will see all this so called influencers actually giving the narrative that trading can be learnt within a year and the newbie can grow as profitable trader while all this are just not entirely true as most of the newbies will grow through stages like risk management which is actually one of the key things that one can actually master and say they are profitable traders.
For some new traders they usually mistaken the positive PNL they see at early stages of trading as them been profitable and this is not entirely, although yes positive PNL are the wins but before someone can actually certify them selves as profitable trader they must have been consistent for long and flipping accounts, this is what profitable traders have as distinct from other random traders
One member of this forum that I know is a fairly consistent trader is Oshosondy, and you can ask him your questions directly.
However, if your goal is to learn, that question is probably not that important to ask because if there is a trader who can be successful in the next 6 to 12 months and also full time or just side job, it doesn't mean you have to follow because you and that trader are different, just learn about his skills in trading.
From what I have learned in this community and from the outside, the person that become successful in crypto has somewhat has a experience outside, like in stocks and so they just apply their knowledge here in crypto and made some adjustments to tailor based on it in the market. So I'm not sure if you can learn within six to twelve months what others have learn in college and in their line of worth. I'm not a professional trader though so I can't answer the other questions. I just giving some on what I have observed here and from the people that I talk who trades. Maybe you can join some Telegram groups as well who is just starting to trade as well so you will have the same journey and share notes too. So best of luck if you decided to go down in this path.
learning trading and become profitable isn't too much fixated on time, instead if you're lucky or talented and can easily spot the right strategy you can make profit right away.
at the end of the day it depends on you, i've seen plenty of people starting trading and become profitable, maybe through arbitrage, or just buying the dip.
this 12 month learning is probably waste of time not learning anything meaningful, if you are truly committed you can always try to observe other people's trade and make conclusion to make your own strategy.
#1. There's no specific period on which it will be giving out that assurance that you can learn up that trading skills on a span of time since there would really be that different factors that could really be able to make an individual do able to learn up. This is why duration cant really be known.
#2. There's no edge, trading skills isnt something that you can be able to learn in a short time. Different methods and ways will be available on which you can make use because we are the ones we are really that doing that trial and error on which making use of the method on which we can be able to use.
#3. If you do see your trading skill isnt that good enough then making it as a main source of income is that hard but if you've seen yourself to be that sustainable then this is the time you do consider it out on making it as a full time job.
The key on here is that you shouldnt really be that making yourself that being too desperate on trying out to achieve things in a short time period because this is where desperation kicks in on which it will be leading out into tons of mistakes.
I have heard that this time is often enough to learn to make a profit on spot trading, but I am not sure that this can be achieved on futures. In fact, regarding futures trading, there is an opinion that it is only a matter of time before a trader catches bad days and loses everything he earned before. I have almost completely moved away from trading, because for me investing brings much better results, buying and holding bitcoin is the best strategy, which in my case trading cannot beat.
Trading is not an easy task and it's not just a book or some lessons you will learn it within specific time, there are no such 6 months to 1 year duration to learn trading and also success, I see some traders even in the forums they are very successful in the short term, 3-4 months, it's depend on many things, some experienced traders still losing money in trading.
I have a friend who has only been involved in trading for a few months, and in that short time, he has managed to make a profit and have a good income from it, even when he works elsewhere. But from my experience, people like this are not many, and they seem to have their own intuition when tradingeven when you ask them what their tips are so that they can be like that, at most, they will tell you some general things, but they will not share their tricks with you. So, it's better for you to learn it yourself, and if you are willing, you can take a trading class (although that does not guarantee success for you).
Trading is very easy to learn but difficult to make money from unless someone has really understand a strategy to use and not become emotional at anytime because any change of the strategy can lead to losses.
You can trade for a week and make money but in a way that the money can later be lost later.
About 85 to 90% of traders are losing. Which shows that a newbie trader will most likely lose.
It is possible for a trader to begin to make money in trading within 6 months of learning and experience but the trader will need to keep up with his profitable trading plans.
A trader needs to be patient, know about averaging, begin trading with a very little amount of money. This will help a lot.
There are many traders here, but only few of them (I exclude myself of course ) are profitable and when I say profitable, I mean they're making constant profits on a weekly or monthly basis.
6-12 months is a long time for somebody to learn about trading already I believe. In the past, I'm not in favor of having a mentor that will help you in trading, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that "You might really need one to shorten the path to success in trading." Most of the mentors aren't cheap though because most of them asks for some payment in exchange of knowledge, but if you really want to be a successful trader, mentors will be a big help. Not a requirement, but a BIG HELP.
Aside from this forum, better ask on other social media platforms as well like on Reddit. An expert like @Oshosondy already said that most of the traders are losing money on trading, and having a mentor would help you aside from asking from other experts as well.
You can't get a general answer if you ask for the duration of time that it'll take to learn crypto trading, our levels of intelligence and dedications differs. It is possible for some to master trading within that time frame while it can take longer for others, so every individual has to learn to trade at their own pace. There are lots of hypes on social media about learning how to trade within a short timeframe and they'd tell you to pay for tutorials, whether you learn or not within that time is not their problem. We should understand that crypto trading is hard and it's not a get rich quick scheme, it requires time and patience to truly understand. A member mentioned on this thread about the need to have a professional mentor to guide you as a newbie because it's easy to make wrong decisions and lose your money in trading.
The Bitcoin and cryptocurrency market have four years cycle and by that, I mean 12 months, 1 year is not enough for your learning and experience with trading in this market.
You will need four year, from bull market, to bear market, to understand a full cycle and you will have enough experience with trading in different market phases like bullish, bearish and most boring time and most fearful months when the market is flooded with FUD.
Trading full time contains high risk and you must be too professional, disciplined and experienced traders to get profit.
Yes, that's me.
I did trade in 2021 and 2024, I'm in profit.
But if I trade in 2020,2022, and 2023, I'm in loss.
Why? it's because easier to become trader in bull season rather than bear season.
If you want to trade in bear season, you're better to short in futures trade instead of trading in spot market.
If you trade in this year, you should be in profit because we're in bull season.
Yes, I did.
I didn't have any prior experience but I was holding Bitcoin from time to time but it doesn't count as trading.
I started trading in 2020. I had a full-time job but Bitcoin went up, I gained lots of profit, and then I bought BNB, and gained a huge profit. Then I left my job (I couldn't take a vacation) and started full-time trading. To be fair, it was one of the worst periods of my life because trading is very stressful. Yeah, I made a huge profit but I lost almost everything because in order to profit, you need to spend every minute looking at charts. Once, I spent 2 whole days and nights in trading, then I opened a position on futures but it wasn't going well, so I had to close the order but I was so tired that I felt asleep and my money got liquidated.
Then I decided to be careful with my trading, returned to my job and started a different kind of trading. I decided to only catch the best moments instead of trying to catch every moment. So, I waited until Bitcoin fell down to 30K USD and then I immediately bought it. Then I sold, bought Matic, got 100% profit, and then bought Bitcoin at 70K. I'm less stressed and get better profits this way.
Becoming profitable might be happening at any time like on your first trade or within a month or year but how consistently you are profitable like number of profitable trades are more than your number of loss making trades is the real concern here. I agree becoming profitable is in that sense only but being a profitable is not feasible for any newbie trader because they do make more losses than the sum of their profitable trades. Then, who are all really trading? Whales. Yes, you must have huge capital which are enough to manipulate the market at least for short term.
The other traders who make profits are not consistent like they make profits today and then will lose tomorrow. At the same time, whales may trade for very short period of time but due to their huge volume, they are able to make decent to big profits. I like to suggest you to go for investing with bitcoin or at least go for long term trading with bitcoin but never opt for intraday trading with bitcoin unless your capital is 10 million USD.
I think prospective traders should focus more on acquiring trading skills than how much they could make within a period of time, even barely touching a keyboard. Anyone going into trading shouldn't make that mistake of giving themselves a specific time to become profitable. They can set a timeline to acquire certain basic skill sets for trading but not that of being profitable. It's going to be unnecessary pressure.
It's important to have a side hustle while learning how to trade so one doesn't have to be pressured into making money from trading to take care of bills. Even if one doesn't have a side hustle, it should be that one is dependent on something that fetches one money or one's bills are picked up by capable loved ones or friends. Nothing distracts one from trading like stress and pressure.
I stayed a few years in losses, and "profit today and loss tomorrow" before I became profitable. There's nothing that says some can't become profitable within a year. I believe they're some who beat that mark. Everyone has their own hurrah moment. I like trading Index more this day. It's easier to cope with than other forms of trading.
