I've noticed that wealthy entrepreneurs often claim that "money doesn’t buy happiness." That might be true for them, but for the average person, money carries a different weight.
In our current economy, many are struggling to get by. Having a decent income offers stability and peace of mind. When people stress less about finances, their overall quality of life tends to improve.
It makes me think, is there a certain income level where additional money stops boosting happiness? Or are extremely rich folks just disconnected from the everyday lives of most people?
Money won’t solve everything. It can’t turn back time or bring back those we’ve lost. But it can certainly alter family narratives in significant ways.

Rich people see money as a tool to make more money that's the secret to the phrase that says the rich keeps getting richer, there is actually no rocket since as to why this is so. The poor man only thinks of making money, saving and taking care of his needs without having investments in mind but a rich man's mentality is always to invest and keep on growing whatever he has, any amount of money he gets is an opportunity to use it to make more. poverty is a mindset, there are people that understand the principles of investing even when they don't have enough capital they start from somewhere and after a while they make start making progress.

Elon Musk would have said that because of how many governments in the world are taken down Grok. Many countries are also making investigations about what Grok maybe doing to violate regulations. I remember French authorities recently went to xAI office without any requests but with force for further investigation. All these can not make Elon Musk happy at all.
Or what about when Trump maken a law that did not favour Elon Musk EV vehicle that caused the fight between him and Trump last year, he can not also be happy about such situations. There are sometimes that rich people may not be happy.
Let us leave Elon Mush aside, what about sickness and some life situations that will not make a rich man happy. There are a lot of circumstances that rich people may not be happy.
Money can bring happiness but happiness is not all about money.
Happiness is different from peace of mind! Money doesnt really buy happiness, even though it provide some sense of peace, comfort and security but those things are distinct from what Happiness is.
Ordinary or poor people wouldnt understand what rich or wealthy people mean when they make use of that phrase
basically it doesnt mean money isnt good but it means money isnt everything, a lot of rich people today sacrificed their happiness for that wealth and when they finally got the bag, they begin to miss those thing theyve sacrificed.
I saw Elon Musk recently made same post on X, saying whom ever said money cant buy happiness knows what he is doing. There is a saying I know too much of Everything is bad so maybe when you have too much money
increase in trust issues, betrayals and lot more thing going around you that when rich people begin to feel like that.
rich folks spout that money cant buy happiness crap because theyre swimming in it
for us plebs its about not getting rekt by bills every month
yeah theres a point where more cash just means more toys or bigger yachts but who cares
theyre out of touch alright
think about bitcoin whales hodling billions
do you think they lose sleep over fud like we do
nah they think differently because they can afford to
poverty mindset keeps most stuck
break it by stacking sats and investing smart
not rocket science lol
@Fordsmith whats your take on crypto changing that for average joes
If they know money doesn't buy happiness, why is their main goal always to put more of it in their own pockets?
It feels a bit like a paradox. Many wealthy people say money isnt everything, but their actions still focus on gaining more wealth and influence. If money truly doesnt matter, why is it always the main goal?
Ive personally seen how crypto has changed the lives of people in my country. Some friends I know have improved their lifestyle a lot, but Ive also noticed changes in their personality and behavior. They talk and act very differently compared to before.
This makes me wonder if money really buys happiness, or if it mainly changes how people see themselves and others. Maybe money doesnt buy happiness directly, but it can strongly shape a persons attitude and values.
money can't buy happiness but it will improve your lifestyle which should improve your mood at least. money can't solve everything but it can solve most problems. the rich unhappy ones may have gotten too used to the luxury that they forget to appreciate what they have anymore.
Happiness is subjective. Some see living a luxurious life as happiness, while others see good health as happiness. We all know what will make us happy, and unfortunately, money can't buy some.
In the soceity today, many rich people are suffering due to personal issues that money can't solve. If you ask them, they will agree to trade all the wealth they have acquired to find happiness.

I believe those who are saying money can't buy happiness are the wealthy, and the average know what they are linking their happiness to. It's not just about the material things which we can use money to buy, health issues, etc. We don't really need to judge them, but one thing I also know for sure is that with enough wealth to put you, me, and family where you want, you can put the person's life at peace, and at the same time, too much wealth comes with its own problem: competition, betrayal, and security issues all in one.
This has been a continuous debate about whether money and happiness are correlated. It can be answered in multiple ways in terms of psychology because not everyone has the same psyche. In a research by Kahneman et.al. [1], Happiness increases strongly when income rises from struggling to comfortable, but after a certain point the gains flatten. Ideally that it becomes more of a flat graph for a time.
He is also the author of Thinking Fast and Slow which is a great book
In essence, yes they think differently of money but it probably would cause the same effect.

There is a point where extra money brings diminishing returns to happiness but that point is far beyond where most people are living today, like very far and for those still struggling with rent or food or healthcare, money isnt just about luxury alone money brings security and reduced stress like you mentioned and the freedom to think beyond survival, which directly improves quality of life. When very wealthy people say money cant buy happiness, they are often speaking from a place where those problems no longer exist, so money stops solving daily pain points and its emotional impact fades. Money cant buy time, health, or lost loved ones, but it can change family trajectories, reduce constant anxiety, and create the conditions where happiness has room to grow, just like you shared.
This can be both true and false, depend on person to person. Some people just accepted their faith and got contented with what they have, and the source of their happiness is family and love, they care less about material things and money. So, these are the example that cannot be bought by money.
However, it is undeniable that there are also a lot of material things that could make a person happy, and the only way to obtain it is through monetary purchase. So, that basically is the money that gives them happiness. Though most of these are temporary, a couple of years they're gonna yearn for another.
The phrase money can't buy happiness is only used by people that are already in wealth but if they believe what they say why can't they run their pockets and bank account to go back to being broke? this tells you that the money is also important to them. Rich people see monwy differently because it's something that they already have, how can you impress a man that's rich with money? but for a poor people they get impressed easily.
Of a truth, rich people think about money differently. They have a rich mindset that set them apart from all others, they think long term in years and cycles.Rich people believe money is a tool, they use this money to build something, and the money comes back to them even more.If you want to become rich, start by thinking differently first and building wealth from the money you make.
When a man has attained a certain level of financial independence, it becomes clear to him that there is more to life than mere chasing after money. money answered all things and that is a fact that true happiness comes within and money alone can not feel that void. Rich people are always looking for ways to get more money and often times, there are price they pay that ends up taking their joy from them. for the sake of the sacrifices they have paid, they will certainly get to a point where t eventually dawns on them that they need more to life than just money.
Strive to get the wealth if you are able to and while doing that, your life should not revolve around that alone. you need to build other systems around yourself that gives you true happiness because as much as you need money, you need people that truly loves you and system around you that makes you happy by mere seeing them.
It can't buy happiness but it can solve problems and provide for us.
That's true, it can give peace of mind when others are troubling on how to get theirs when their main problem is with money.
I think that the wealthy just need to find more of themselves and the purpose that they're living. If they have so much money that they can't think of any other things, that's their problem.
Yes, it can't bring back time but it can buy some time for yourself to get satisfied with and do other more productive and important things aside from helping other people.
For a regular people like us, money does buy us happiness. Probably not all the time, but a lot of the things that makes us happy can be bought or acquired if you have the money. If rich people dont believe that money can buy happiness, then why do they still work on making more money? They try hard to make more money because they want it. They get to enjoy their lives with a lot of money. Its just that, the richer they get, their responsibilities grow bigger, making them too busy. Probably, they cant always enjoy the fruit of their work because their responsibilities dont end.
Tho there are limits of what money can bought. There is still happiness that cant be bought. It all depends on what happiness you need right now.
Yes, that is the reason why they are Richer than poor people, because there is no risk they cannot embark on potential projects. It will be hard to see poor people to invest in different projects in the market, because they always think of scammers or money to invest in a particular project but Rich people see projects as an opportunity to increase their wealth in the future. If not money, it will be hard to see people learning crypto investment from this platform, because they have heard good news from people in this platform how they learn to secured wisdom that makes them who they are today.
I agree with you that money cannot buy everything, but money can make you live a simple life that will make your life be at peace to make the body experience good health.

'Money can't give us happiness' is a flase information that spread around the world by the ones who are not competent enough to make money so they can use this as an excuse. Money is mandatory and everyone knows that is the fact.
Rich people know how to use money while every salaried person use money without knowing how to use them, that is why rich is getting richer while remaining else are struggling to meet their ends.
