Does BTC chain abstraction in an altcoin really matter?

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on chain abstraction. 1) Is it still something that sets coins apart? 2) Does it actually bring real usefulness to the altcoin? 3) What other perks are there? I put some money into an altcoin that's wrapping up its Certik audit for BTC chain abstraction, and I'm trying to figure out what's legit and what's just hype.
