We've bought a bunch of new Whatsminers in the last few months, and about 30% of them are DOA on one hashboard, usually showing errors like 540, 541, and 542.
We switched to Whatsminer back in 2020 after dealing with reliability problems with the Antminer S17 series, but now it looks like Whatsminers are having similar issues.
Is anyone else noticing a drop in quality from MicroBT?

I haven't had any experience with the latest whatsminers, but I've noticed that many miners are pretty particular about what pool they're mining on. What pool are you mining on with them? It might help some of the sleuths around here get to the bottom of your issue. I would also recommend trying out a couple different pools and seeing if you're having the same problem with them all if you have time to troubleshoot. You might find that it's more profitable to mine somewhere else based on your hardware. Just a thought of something to try to help diagnose the issue.

I'm mining with ViaBTC Pool.
This is a hardware issue that i don't think is related to the pool. I have to remove the one problematic hashboard to make the miner work on the remaining hashboards.

I'm not familiar with whatsminer, but I think there may be some problem with your hashboard, these error codes usually refer to the wrong number of chips, I think there may be a soldering fault.

Hi did you manage to find a solution to this?
My batch of whatsminer are also 30% DOA with the same error codes.

m30s m50s or m60s
I lost one m50 board to 540 542 issues.
I have two m30s both good
I have four m50s three good fourth has the 540 542 error

M30s+ and how long did you have them before they started erroring? Also did you end up finding a solution for it?

I have many WM50's about 3 of the batch of 48+ ordered went back for warranty service.
I think they are great overall and the ones that worked are still hashing.
Also note... Fastboot on these is meh...

#12Oct 14, 2019, 12:01 AM haven't personally purchased any (as you know, I buy a lot of Bitmain machines from you guys at Altair!) WM machines - but I HAVE seen similar complaints on Reddit regarding the M50/S+M60/S having QC issues.
