Capitalism has been the go-to economic system for ages, where private individuals control resources and make key decisions. It definitely has its upsides, like fostering innovation, creating wealth, and driving profit motives. But when we take a closer look at capitalist societies, we can see a lot of exploitation, instability, and the unfairness of being born into wealth. That kind of inequality pushes many people in developing countries and those in power toward corruption. We're starting to see some serious flaws in the pure Capitalist model. So the big question is, is this really the best system for the world's economies?

When you, like many others, talk about capitalism, I don't know if you realize that in most of the world there is soft capitalism or capitalism with considerable state intervention. The most capitalist country today is Singapore, and even so, the state accounts for 20% of GDP, well above what was happening in most of the world just a century and a half ago. But yes, in general, it is a system with little government intervention in which citizens interact freely, rather than one with a lot of regulations and taxes.

I don't think it's the best system for the current global economy because this system is being handled by few while leaving many behind. But if you check on the brighter side, it has improved the economy because the mobile phones and even fast cars we use today are all as  a result of this system.

There is no system without cracks and dark sides, socialism has its cracks and dark sides just like capitalism system has its dark sides and cracks. Capitalism ought to give people healthy competition to create wealth but it is now unfair and favoring the already rich. My country Nigeria is a mixed economy system but largely a capitalist country but you could own a property, a business but if you are in the bad side of the government you can easily lose it but if the government and politicians get on your good side they could make your competition fade out. The government intervention is causing the biggest cracks in the capitalist system society, the unequal and unfair advantage the rich, friends with those in political post against other is making the system worse.

From every alternatives developed so far, Capitalism is the one which best works, although it's not perfect, neither ideal, especially due to the individuals who run it in the countries. Countries where citizens are ethical and fair tend to work in more efficient and satisfactory ways through Capitalism (and even through another models), while in corrupt countries the tendency is that Capitalism will be precarious and subverted. What I most like about Capitalism is the fact you can own properties, build your patrimony and is allowed to thrive financially, as it's a system where meritocracy is endorsed and encouraged. You have more autonomy to choose which path to trail, what to produce, what to work with, selling the goods you produced on the sequence and generating income.

So far, capitalism has been proven to be one of the most reliable system on the world to keep a functioning society and of course, there are different kinds of capitalism each one with their own characteristics. We could argue the best model is the Nordic capitalism, in which there are social programs which help the weakest individuals of society. I am not aware how big taxes are in nodic Nordic countries, so I cannot give my opinion on it, though it seems to be a place very comfortable to live in. It is foolish how there are so many people who call those countries socialist, when in reality private property is a key part of their economy.

Capitalism has never been a good system at any point in human history. Mixed economies have always produced better results. The capitalist system widens the class divide within society. One group keeps getting richer while another keeps getting poorer. In the end, the system eliminates the middle class and causes a wealthy minority to rule over a poor majority. Capitalism has never been the ideal system described in books, because of human nature it never will be.

Not anymore. Capitalism was invented as a revolutionary regime to curb with the old sustem Feodalism, giving freedom for everybody to work and move from slavery to bourgeoisie. People got red of the authority of arestocrates and Church. So this what motivated them to the industrial revolution and the national state. For about 300 years with capitalism, the world started realizing its disadvantages and how it's a regime of continious crisis.

Capitalism has never being the best form of economic system, at least that's what it promoters preach of it but it's not. Capitalism has done much harm to human race than it has helped it developed on innovative grounds. It's a system that promotes exploitation of man by man, unhealthy competitions which leads to instability in the social life thereby giving life the outlook of the survival of the fittest even in the modern day. I think that the cultural background of a society should be a basis to choosing what economic systems could really be best for their development than accepting what system of economy that is fashionably sold to be the overall best.

People presume what we have now in most nations is capitalism when we have never before seen governments so gigantic and dominant of every action taken by people every second of the day.   The GDP of most countries is dominated into even the majority by a centralized government entity, that isn't proper capitalism its politics directing and controlling all money so when people criticize the system while its so badly mislabeled I think we are lost tbh.

The good thing about the Nordic countries was that they used capitalism to generate wealth, and then redistributed it. And I say “used” because some of them have now become shitholes, such as Sweden, but that's another matter. In any case, the system is completely different from applying socialism to everything, including wealth generation, which instead of generating wealth crushes the private sector and impoverishes everyone. So, a combined form of capitalism like this, which leaves wealth creation to the private sector and then redistributes it, seems acceptable to me.

Yeah we need a capitalistic society if you want advanced in every sector. If you cant motivate people to develop new products or improve products then nobody will put an effort into it. Look at those cars which were made in communist countries. They were all bland, bad and unrealiable. Because there was no incentive for a vehicle company to make better vehicles. Same with many other sections in different industries. Most this is why most countries are capitalistic countries. It is not fair for some. Especially the poor or disabled or elderly. Because they are the ones which cant afford much while the workers get to spend money on anything they desire. Its not fair but its better than having a communistic system where nobody is motived to work or advance themselves or the world.

I don't know but I think living in a socialist or communist states like China and India seems much better than living in a capitalist country such as the united states and Nigeria. When I compare their standards of living and how capitalism shapes the economic policies of the countries in terms of their taxation systems where the small and medium size businesses have less priority than the major businesses. Where policies are designed to keep the wealthy business communities rich and make the less privileged struggle more with survival. Where the government focuses more on the empowerment of the already established guys while leaving the small businesses at their mercy. Where big brands across different industries monopolize the small brands and dominates the business space. As for the communist states, it's a different thing. A level playing ground is giving all businesses and the business owners are allowed to thrive being it small or large scale businesses. Subsidies are giving to small businesses to also enable them to grow while the big businesses are put on check to avoid monopoly.

I don't think that it will be the best system for economies, actually there are no perfect system to be honest. In Capitalism, only the rich are going to be wealthy and the rest of the working population are just there, to work for them. And as we all know that some authoritative government are implementing this and we see that they are the only one really benefiting from the setup. And worst their country is falling rapidly, inflation and maybe jobless are prevalent. Not sure what the cons of it, but it's pretty obvious that the power is only left on the few personalities controlling the country with their wealth.

Capitalism isn't good but the same can be said about communism. In communism, since everything was owned by the government, no one really cared about anything and everyone was stealing because it was on the government and not private property. This created a huge deficit in the country, and the corruption was at its highest. The good thing about capitalism is that it's good at the start because there is competition among businesses and it naturally benefits everyone but over time, capitalism is terrible because the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. If we compare communism to capitalism in my country, I would say that communism was better but that's because we were part of the Soviet Union and we were basically robbing Russia. If we were alone, then communism would be terrible in my country compared to capitalism.

Capitalism is the best economic system that exists, but the problem lies in a flawed monetary system. The current monetary system creates money based on debt and constantly prints new currency, leading to inflation and loss of moneys value. This prevents ordinary people from saving and accumulating capital, while the system forces them into constant investments and gambling. Transitioning to a Bitcoin standard could solve these problems. In this way, everyone could finally accumulate capital fairly and build personal wealth. It would be a more just form of capitalism than what exists today.Fix money, fix the world.

The system that we have, which isn't fully free capitalist system, but a regulated one, is the "best" one we found so far that people are happy with. Nobody says it is the best system that we could ever have, hell democracy isn't the best system we have, "voting" for people based on highest population preference, compared to putting the most educated and well trained person is a wrong idea. But so far this is what we have, and if anyone suggests anything is better, they can politically be motivated enough to go try to get votes on it, either get involved with any party that already exists and shift that party to your idea, or start your own. If you are right, people will want it, and if people don't, then even if you are right, or if you are wrong, doesn't matter in the end.

Funny enough even socialist system use capitalist data to "proof" they are better. Just a few dots, most profound hardly anyone can beat the US. A reason why the US is the engine of the world's economy.

Capitalism is indeed the most sustainable system of government as it takes a lot of burden away from the government and allow them focuse on other important things.  It also help in wealth distribution and encouraging productive citizens since no one will relax and wait for paychecks from the government.

India isn't the same socialist as the constitution says, we are almost the capitalist and all the rules are in favor of the rich one just like US and most of the countries in the world. Self-sustained economy is the ideal one but in reality it is not possible at all and the countries which tried them failed terribly and moving towards capitalism which we can see even in Cuba.
