Hey folks, I’ve been digging into Solana (SOL) lately and noticed a lot of hype around its speed and low fees. It looks like it offers a better experience and performance compared to Ethereum. That said, I’ve come across some info about network issues Solana has had before, which makes me a bit wary. Some people think it’s getting better, while others are worried these problems might pop up again when the network gets busy. As a newbie in crypto, I’m planning to hold onto a few coins for the long haul, so I’d love to hear what you all think. Is Solana still a wise choice for 2025? - Nikhil

Solana has a high increase because they are a place to create shitcoins, most shitcoins are built on that network, that's why Solana last year had high interest. If we compare it to Ethereum, of course Solana is faster and cheaper but at the time of yesterday's incident, when Trump's coin was launched, the solana network had the same problem when there were many transactions coming in, they became slow and expensive, isn't that the same, and the problem is their Blockchain sometimes goes down and that's quite annoying. I've exited Solana for the current cycle, haven't seen any bigger opportunities at this time and you have to be careful at the end of this cycle if you don't want to sink.

It is & it will show that in the second half of 2025. It’s been tough for Altcoin holders, we haven’t seen the big gains that we expected yet but we will. Solana is a sleeping giant & when Bitcoin dominance peaks later this year after it’s cycle top, investors will rotate into Altcoins & this is where generational gains are made.

No doubt that Solana like other Altcoins that will last in this crypto industry can be said if I can get more profit from it that is higher than ethereum or Bnb in my opinion. Especially now that it has shown a pretty good performance since last year as far as I know. Although there is still criticism, it is okay and normal because this is the case with crypto assets.

didn’t trump mention solana as well to be coins he will include in his strategic reserve? i mean sure he could just be bluffing and saying those things to manipulate the market but last year’s performance shocked a lot of people i believe and now there should only be some developments to keep the blockchain operating efficiently

It's a good buy if you can catch the dips. Speaking about speed and fee, it's actually relatively higher in fee compared to some of eth's L2 and some L1 out there, but speed wise it's indeed fast. From what I can see solana's price action always follow bitcoin except when BTC just decided to shit on alts and make its bitcoin dominance higher.

Well now we can buy some Solanan tokens for only $144. I do think if you like this project now you can stack some cheap tokens and will make profit when the next 'bull run' does start. There is alot of news about this project now. The companies Invesco and Galaxy now are the ninth issuer to file for a spot Solana ETF with the SEC. https://www.tradingview.com/news/cryptonews:f7ffb1ea6094b:0-asset-manager-invesco-becomes-latest-to-file-for-solana-etf-is-sec-s-approval-imminent/

Yep. As others outlined - lots of potential, possibilities, and room to improve. Alts didn't shine this season yet, and SOL will definitely do this eventually.

Is their a must that you must invest in Solana? If no, then I think that you should channel that energy into Bitcoin investment because it's the most reliable and trustworthy asset to invest in, though Solana is not that too bad to invest in but the risk is very much on the higher side because in my own opinion it might keeps on depreciating from here than going as far as even $250, so the logical decision since it's not a must that you must invest in Solana, just buy Bitcoin and hold, in few years time from now, you will be happy that you took such a step than investing in alt that can be easily manipulated.

Not financial advice whatsoever, just my personal thoughts. In general, I consider solana to be a good coin, a blue chip alternative currency to hold for people who are interested in alternative currencies and do not feel like gambling with shitcoins. Though, it is certainly worrying how there has been blackouts within their network/Blockchain in the past, when this is supposed to be a decentralized asset running on a decentralized system of approbation of transactions. I think it is worth buying, but one needs to wait for the right moments to do so, some dips, so one can take the most advantage possible of market volatility. If you are seeking for long term holding, then I believe there could be better options.

Based on market cap, they're ranked #6. That makes Solana (SOL) one of the good projects among the good ones. Remember that CMC top 100 is something, they wouldn’t be there if they didn’t have solid fundamentals. So, Solana (SOL) is still a good choice this year, compared to other projects. But if you want to find something more solid, it's better to choose Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH).

Trump is a politician and we know that politicians' statements always end up like what will cause him to lose his consistency, Solana has been performing very poorly lately, their network is not so productive anymore. If Trump really includes it then it will be good news, but it will be useless if there is a lack of interest from the public, but if it is not included in the strategic reserve fund and their ETF is rejected, when they cannot compete with other chains and then enter a bearish year, then they need to hold back next year.

Solana is not really a very bad choice since it has so many advantages that many use to praise it for, but as it is now, the market is very unstable and we don’t know the fate of all this altcoins which makes it some kind of a sceptical decision to allow yourself invest into the wrong project. When bitcoin gets to its peak, other altcoins will tend to follow as the money will be moved from bitcoin to altcoins when investors begin to take profit. Until then, we can not tell which altcoins will give you good gains in the long run but Solana has been one of the successful altcoins to still exist today with potential price stability amongst other altcoins.

I would say that each eco has its pros and cons, but SOL is a solid pick for sure.

Solana does have the potential, after all it went almost upto $300 last year which shows its great potential. But it hasn't performed really well this year. In fact it's with almost every other altcoin. We haven't seen decent gains in any altcoin this year and may be the altcoin season is still far away. This is a good price to buy though. May be buy SOL and stake it to get a passive income while waiting for potential gains on it's price.

Solana, like other strong altcoins, has shown impressive performance since last year and could potentially offer higher profits than Ethereum or BNB in my view.

ETH and BNB is already way over priced in my opinion although ETH is still lacking behind and hasn't reached its ATH but it's showing weak price action in the daily and weekly chart. So it's no wonder that solana can be more profitable than these two. Personally i stacked sol and have been restaking it hoping the APR generated can be multiplied through capital gain. Could be the best decision or the worst decision, but at least i'm trying.

I will ignore Trump as it has nothing to do with this topic, and can you tell me, what basis you have to assert that Solana is underperforming and no longer effective? Because so far Solana is the best performing L1 coin compared to ETH, BNB, Near or AVAX…as it hits new ATH and hits $295 in January 2025. In addition, Sol also shows significant improvement as 16 months have passed without any incidents as before and there have been many technical upgrades to stabilize the network. It is no coincidence that memecoins and projects choose Solana instead of ETH or BNB like previous cycles. Trump's bitcoin or digital asset reserves are fragile and could be abandoned when his term ends. So we shouldn't expect too much from it. I don't know about the future of the reserve, but I'm sure Solana will be the next SEC approved ETF. That means it's not bad.

It's even one of the best performing altcoin assets for now, and it was said that it is the one that really killed Ethereum for this cycle as Ethereum had a hard time really picking up the price while some altcoins are having a good price increased. But probably this is what the trend says, every bull cycle, we have seen a altcoin that really stand out and making a lot of gains. So unless Solana developer still continue to go and make a lot of iterations that improved their project, then it can go on till the next cycle. However, it's hard to beat against what we have seen in the past. So strike while the iron is hot and invest Solana, we still have like 6 months to go and make a big profit of this project and then we will see how it goes next.

The main base of Solana's revenue is a product of gaping/shitcoin on its network, therefore the Solana network is crowded, unless they will move to a more innovative product and increase its function and we know that the crowd is there because of the large amount of airdrops that continue to be built to promote their networks. If Bitcoin will definitely last very long and I think it will be forever as a strategic reserve but my Altcoin will doubt about it, Solana, XRP and others that are still in the submission, I am still very doubtful. Let's just look at the extent of this regulation will continue regarding the altcoin that will be traded for the institution.
