I know a lot of investors feel let down by altcoins, but I'm telling you it's not done yet. The chaos in altcoins is mainly due to the lack of regulation, but there are still some solid high-quality altcoins out there that have performed well. Just look at those who snagged Solana back in 2022 for $10... they're not crying now because they're still in the green. And BnB is another good example of a success story, going from $270 to $1000. Some folks picked up XRP at $0.35 and XMR at $150 back in 2022. There's a lesson here: your entry point is crucial with altcoins. When Bitcoin is deep in a bear market, that's usually the best time to start buying up these altcoins. Plus, I’d suggest having a long-term HODL strategy. What if a game-changing regulation for altcoins comes out tomorrow? Remember when the Bitcoin ETF was just a wild rumor? I truly believe that this market won’t stay messy forever, a solution will come. So how do you get ready for long-term holding? 1. Invest in altcoins with real use cases. A lot of people hype up Bitcoin, but they overlook that it can't handle everything. Take Monero, for instance it shines when it comes to privacy and anonymity. Bitcoin mainly gives us decentralization, so it can’t do everything on its own. Choose altcoins that actually have real-world applications. 2. Most altcoins aren’t worth holding long-term. Be selective with your altcoin choices. Most of them are just out to make a quick buck, and many abandon their projects midway without giving back to investors.

Good stuff, OP. Alts will shine for a bit one way or another, but as for now, this cycle is dominated by global adoption and talks regarding BTC. All the rest of the coins get only a crumb of attention BTC gets.

If you sort based on these criteria, you will only have 5 to 10 altcoins left. There are no new altcoins that actually have features that really help solve financial problems. Some of them are just improvements to other existing coins that they think have stopped being improved, but they haven't. And more bullshit altcoins are simply network facilities of larger speculative tokens.

I never talked about anything new, all the examples I used are old altcoins that are very useful, I won't advice anyone to go after new altcoins, not now that Trump have given room for every shitty developers and non developers to create shit tokens everywhere. If anyone is reading this be 10 times extra careful with new altcoins, there is nothing more dangerous than new altcoins in this crypto space, that's why I talked about proven projects like Monero and Solana.

this is exactly why people have bad perception of altcoins because they do not see much of it as a serious project but more of a money-grabbing project hence why usually flock to altcoins with higher risk appetite not really looking for something to use

Alright, now explain to me the functional differences between Solana and ETH, and what Solana stands out for, aside from its transaction scalability, which ETH has also been able to improve over time. I'm not referring to new coins, meaning recently launched. What I'm referring to are coins that are packaged as innovative but are simply ideas derived from older coins. I'm not saying Solana, XRP, or BNB are bad choices. But if you're talking about real use cases, your selection should be more stringent than how aggregators rank coins based solely on market cap.

Seriously, only a few altcoins are worth investing in. In fact, if I want to be honest, I would say that over 90% of altcoins are bad. They exist for a very short time, and some of them are created just to scam people. Most of them are pump-and-dump projects.at the end of the last two years, I bought some new altcoin projects because I thought that altcoin season was approaching, but I really regretted it because I lost almost all the money that I invested in those new projects. So, it is always better to invest in long-existing projects like Solana, Ethereum, BNB, and others like them. Nowadays, most new projects coming into the crypto industry are just pump and dump projects. If we want to choose a new altcoin project, we need to do proper research and be very careful, because almost all of them look good at first.

BNB and Solana coins are good examples. Many people have been disappointed by the prolonged altcoin declines, but I don't believe it's all over yet. Even in the past, some altcoins performed well, and some can still experience good growth. A Bitcoin ETF was considered impossible, but nowadays governments want to buy Bitcoin. ETFs for altcoins are being discussed. I think real-world application is the most important factor; it's crucial not to forget this when preparing well.

Yeah, only some altcoins are bad, like newly listed altcoins or altcoins that are completely useless like there is no usecase, I believe more in the top altcoins that have been tested worthy of ETH, BNB, SOL and a few more. Will you dare to invest in new tokens? I am not too brave to take this risk because in reality, new tokens after a few months of listing fall up to 90%.

When doing some comparism we should know when it started and even if we look back at those time you made mentioned the hype isn't like this and then, there were also more reliable coin than. Currently many projects that are being launched are not just launching with a purpose but with a mindset of coming to milk the community of their hand earned money just to fill their coast. If you are telling me that people should invest in those reputable coins then fine, but not just all these shit coin and memecoin that has no reputation or even has no prospect. All these attributes to why I do not like holding altcoin instead bitcon could be more preferable.

We have to hold those altcoins that we believe have a great future. Those the few that you've mentioned, they're good ones. But you cannot stop other investors that think they've found the lottery project that will change their lives and that's why they'll continue to hold it for as long as they can. Even if the market is dropping so much on them and it keeps them losing money, they'll not going to cut their losses in it. They'll choose to dwell in too much loss and accept its fate than to cut their losses. I think that mindset should be changed as well if it's about holding altcoins.

No matter what, Investors won't get over alts, some alts like Solana stays promising, for this same fact, buyers always keep searching for sister altcoins they assume could do similar significant shifts in a semi long time. Money get lost in this search, but hope isn't forfeited, projects troops into the market now and then like bees in a large group, the right eye would definitely find few coins worth throwing money into.

I don't consider Etherum as a good coin to hold for long term even though, she is mother of altcoins because the price didn't perform up to expectations this circle. It seems like Etherum is losing its value gradually overtime from my observation of the price history in 2021 and this bull run. Solana and BNB is promising, I saw how the price of BNB pumped above $1k giving investors huge profits and confidence. Majority of projects are pump and dump or dump and dump.

BNB and Solana show that real-world utility drives long-term value. Despite prolonged altcoin declines, some coins can still grow if adoption increases, ETFs emerge, and ecosystems remain strong. Strategic Lock and focusing on practical use cases are key for future gains.

If I'm not mistaken, ETH is also being seen as a good ETF crypto, and so with that, it could push the price. However, not sure what really happened with ETH in this bull run as they really fell short of expectations from their investors. While Solana and BNB really took it or even Tron became the face of the altcoin bull run. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see for the next four years as what is going to happen to the altcoin market. Maybe some companies too will invest on them and became a strategic reserve on they are going to put it in their balance sheet.

I also don't believe "Crypto" is over! But it must change! Too many new crypto currencies were just released as an object of speculation, and that trick wears off over time! But any currency that offers real value will be different and will be treated differently! ("Cotidianus digitalis" i.e. is really a different beast from Bitcoin and the others, due to its inherent value in each coin!) And, honestly, goverments and regulaters didn't like "Paypal" in the beginning either, but we all use it because of its practicality! So, let's make Crypto practical and it will bloom!

Unfortunately this is true and yet we are not seeing them change that much. Reality is that we are seeing most people invest into shitcoins and that creates a little bit of chaos. This is why the best way to move forward would be investing into only the top ranked coins and yet people don't do that. I have seen someone shilling and promoting a token that was not even in the top 1000 of coins in coinmarketcap, think about it, it requires only a few million dollars marketcap to be there, and this one wasn't and he seriously thought it could do great.

It won't change anytime soon. The market is saturated daily with coins like these.. For the sole purpose of profit or seeking investors to gain said profits Our job is just to skip such coins.

In this cycle, BNB has done very well and investors have made good profits, I also made good profits by investing in BNB. But in this cycle, SOL has not done well. Those who bought SOL in 2022-23 are still in quite a profit. But those who bought in 2021 have made enough profit? Or if they are holding, are they still in profit? On the other hand, ETH is called the king of altcoins, do you still think ETH is good for long-term holding? There is not much difference between the ATH of 2021 and the ATH of 2025. I am not very optimistic about altcoins, BNB has done well in this cycle so there is no guarantee that it will do well in the next cycle. Like ETH did well in 2021 but did not do well in 2025. So I am optimistic about Bitcoin, I want to risk 10% of my portfolio in altcoins.

The crypto cycle is still intact but it looks like thing have changed this time and we should not be expecting the same previous movement we must have been seeing in the crypto market making everything easier to predict when the price of Bitcoin is going to go up and when the price of Bitcoin is going to go down. We must have gotten used to the 4 years bear and the 4 years bull market making it easily predictable to know when to buy and when to sell without having great knowledge about the market analysis. This makes people that are newbies to make decisions without asking any questions from those that have been in the market for long. From what is happening in the market, we should be prepared for sudden fall and rise in the price of Bitcoin at any time.
