Totally agree, the law seems to be set up just to keep the poor in check, while rich folks get away with so much. It’s like they think the wealthy can do no wrong. This mindset that there’s a divide in how the law treats the rich and the poor really fuels corruption everywhere. Until we wake up and realize that everyone should be treated the same under the law, things will just keep going downhill. When the rich commit crimes, especially when they’re stealing from the public, they always manage to find loopholes. But let a poor guy do something minor, and suddenly all the lawbooks get pulled out for punishment.
laws are only for the poor, not the rich

Yep that is the sad reality laws are only effective on the poor heard so many new about that like people stealing foods they get reprimanded so harshly but the rich stealing millions are just walking away like it was nothing no one dares to take action when will the people learn the world is so unfair and corruption is prominent. the law should protect every one fairly and just but why it is not effective on those kind of people.
In general, there is nothing good about being poor because it places you at a very discomforting position where you sit at the receiving end of anything that oppresses. Sometimes in extreme cases, the law catches up with the rich but for every rich guy that is brought to book through a legal means, 20 poor men have been apprehended for a lesser case.
Laws are made to guide the mode of conduct of the general public but they are first tested on the poor and kept for the rich that has gone really extreme in his act. this is not the society we want to find ourselves where the rich always gets free after comiting all kinds of crime. you don't want to cry and whale when you are oppressed? get wealth and flee from crime.

I don't know if this topic would be more appropriate in Politics & Society, but be that as it may, it is publicly known that the lobbies put a lot of pressure on regulators so that laws are passed the way those who they serve want.
This is not always a bad thing, there is a growing Bitcoin lobby that, although it has clear economic interests, is driving the legalisation and adoption of Bitcoin, to mention perhaps the most opportune example for the forum in which we are writing.

What you should understand is that, most of the laws that concerns tax law affects the rich the most because most of the rich people are owners of companies and industries so hence there is increase in tax when it comes to company and income tax they are the ones that have a greater effect so don't say laws affects the poor only. The poor people in most society pay the least tax, because they don't even have job's you can tax, so the laws in most cases affects all regardless of your class in the society.
They always have the choice to fulfill their obligations or avoid them. Greedy officials are never empty in all government sectors of corrupt countries. If taxes ask you for 10% for the state, the officials will offer less than that for their own pockets and then you will get protection

Laws are for poor people. A $500 fine for a multimillionaire is pennies. But someone who gets paid $1000 per month will have to think thoroughly before evading the law.
Always has been like this. People have this idea that laws, which are words on a piece of paper, somehow grant the same power between the poor and the rich.

I thought we are the only one experiencing this kind of challenges, for instance our lawmakers who are senators and house of representative design a law for themselves in allocating huge amount of money for their cars and other allowances which is unconstitutional, just recent that the court make judgment that the money is illegal and they have to stop it, they have already shared everything before the court can finish the judgment, but let's see how it goes in the next budget. The painful thing here is that this people were elected by masses and currently as I'm speaking the masses are suffering, they don't care to feel our pains. Almost all of our politicians are above the law of the Nation because they believe once you joined the ruling party you're sins are forgiving.
It get's worse knowing that a rich person is capable of paying someone to serve prison time on behalf of them. The rich enjoy privilege's which the poor don't, even an average person is no different when a rich person is involved, the law twist and law makers/executors are bought to tamper lawful decision.
A country will be better if the law function as supposed, lot's of politicians should be serving time by now, but instead the law don't apply to them since they've bought the justice system and forced to bend the rules.
That is an undeniable fact and is often practiced in my country. Because of this inequality, the term "the law is sharp at the bottom, blunt at the top" emerged. In my opinion, this is real and many people have experienced this, especially the poor who do not have the resources to hire lawyers. So it is not surprising that officials who commit large amounts of corruption receive special treatment from law enforcement, and vice versa, chicken thieves are caught and beaten black and blue.
In theory, laws are made for everyone, in any constitution, the wording of the articles is very clear (everyone is equal in the eyes of the law), we have also never found any laws that specifically target the poor. The purpose of making laws is also very clear, namely for everyone, presidents, officials, rich and poor, even though the sentence "laws are made only for the poor" is never written in detail, but in practice it happens very often. As a result of inequality in the application of the law, state officials are becoming increasingly bold in committing corruption.
In my opinion, this kind of method is a vicious circle created by irresponsible people, due to greed and always looking down on poor people, so they always become victims due to the lack of equality before the law.
I think in developed countries there aren't such cases (maybe less amount)
Surely there is nothing good about being poor but the hardest truth is that every one can never be rich, there must be the upper class, middle class and the lower class and this is how life has been, from the social stratification you can see the inequality in status so expecting that there is going to be equality is a complete waste of time, the rich sees themselves as the law meaning that they can bend it but to the poor they are already in the watchlist of the rich that made the law, sometimes you may really not blame those doing anything possible to be rich including illegal means and only pray that they don't get caught because of how the society treats the poor, the humiliation and the intimidation.
The government made the law to favor themselves because they are the rich and friends to the rich people. It becomes very easy for them to go scout free without being punished after committing a crime because they can buy their way out or pay a fine.
However, the poor doesn't have money to take care of his basic needs and monthly expenses which makes him incapable to pay for his crimes and be set free.
Like every venomous things, law has its immunity - the rich at every angle, because they work closely with the law makers, and enforcement agencies, gets to bypass what the law says most of the times. The rich pay lesser tax than the poor masses who have little money to cater for their needs, they lock wealth in physical assets like gold and silver to avoid paying high taxes, with the help of professionals on tax affairs, to siphon wealth to their next generation unbothered.
We live in a society where laws are different for rich and poor but in reality laws are supposed to be equal for everyone despite their wealth and their influence, whenever there is unjustice then there will be more corruption and it will distrust the public. If influential people are accused of any crime they are given leverage whereas when someone with few resources or poor committed some crime they have to face serious consequences. when different classes of a society are treated differently before the law than Justice can not prevail in our society people either they are rich or poor they should face the same consequences in front of the law. Unjustice brings corruption and mistrust of the people on the laws whereas whenever there is Justice in a society people started believing on their government and having trust on the laws.
From the very start of every individual, they have wishes, dreams and desires. No one wishes to be poor, but sometimes life appears to us in the opposite of what we wished for, and we will be left with no other option accept to accept the reality of life and whatever life throws at us. Poors has the same rights as the riches. Poor has the right to fear hearing same as rich, but the law only favours the rich. The only language that is understood by everyone is money and if you don't have money there is no way other people will understand your situation.
I will not say that the rich have nothing to do with the law, rather that law is made for the convenience of the people of the legal department and the administration, even the rich people benefit from it. Theft is a similar crime and the same punishment was supposed to be given to all levels of people for the same crime, but the rich get exemption very easily from the administration and the judiciary in exchange for money, but the poor are not exempted from punishment due to their financial inability. Through this, the people of the administration and the judiciary earn a lot of money.
The relationship between the government and the rich is also very good, if the government is for someone, everything in the country is for him. Where the governments should have been for the poor, the government works for the rich people of the country. The same crime, but the punishment is different according to the class. Some people do not become thieves even if they steal a mountain of money, while others get the title of state thief for stealing a small amount of money. This is the current policy and this is the current government system.
As for the politicians or those who are in charge of public funds, stealing is not a crime; in fact, they have another name that sounds pleasant. When they are caught in the act of stealing public funds, it is called looting. They don't refer to it as stealing because the word stealing is only meant for thieves. When politicians steal, it is called corruption, and they are never called thieves like the average person who steals from the street. The average person is punished with hard labour when they break the law, but when politicians commit the same crime, it is painted or interpreted in a different way to look good and different from the average offender on the street.

The law is selective with financial status but not on crimes that are obvious to the public. It's not even about been rich, people that have power tend to have their ways out of the crime but one thing is if your crime is obvious and there is too straight evidence, you are not escaping from the law, it will take it cause. Some of the reasons why it tend to be that rich and powerful people get away from law isn't because they use money to influence the law, they use their money to cover tracks so law doesn't catch up with them.
Let me tell you one scenario, there was case of a rich guy in high school that bullied a gentle guy that was quiet, slap and slam her faces on desk, fortunately there was video and it was release on social media. The parents had to beg the parents of the gentle guy, assuming the evidence was not public. That case will die off and that other guy will be bullied forever. There are many innocent people without voice that has been silent because of abuse of power and wealth.
The sooner you realize that rich people live in a bubble where money can unlock a lot more possibilities (and even protection), the more tuned in you will be. If a rich person breaks the law, it is vastly different to a poorer person breaking the law and they might not even think twice about it. That fixed $150 parking ticket? It's not even given a second thought by a millionaire or billionaire, just completely disregarded. But anyone working a near minimum wage would probably give up a day or two of their working life to pay it off. It's a sad state of affairs and is only getting worse with corporate capture in every aspect of life. Sadly America has become the incubator for all the bad parts of capitalism and it is winning - the only hope is it can be stopped elsewhere.
