Hey folks!
I need some assistance in tracking down where an XRP transaction originated from.
The key detail is the Source Tag: 1741383633.
I’ve noticed this tag is responsible for sending multiple transactions every 5-10 minutes from different addresses, which seems like it might be a non-custodial wallet or something like that.
Could anyone check their transaction history for their addresses? I bet someone here has dealt with this before.
I’ll toss 30 XRP to the first person who provides the correct info!
Thanks a ton for any help!
Most likely an exchange? or casino
By the way, it's hard to track using the tag. But much easier through the address. An exchange or casino can have several tags tied to one address. The different tags are for the different accounts in the exchange to avoid mix-up of funds. Let me try briefly looking into it.
Edit:
The source tag appears to be linked to an XRP address is either on of Robinhood's address or is at least linked to it. But it's most likely a Robinhood address (rP8kv2mmCQvXyUnh71vWTdpAwPNH2MXhPu) as it was activated by Robinhood and also keeps sending funds to one of Robinhood's hot wallets.
Most likely, the "Service" (the one that sets the tag) is some kind of non-custodial wallet.
The owner of address rP8kv2mmCQvXyUnh71vWTdpAwPNH2MXhPu started using this service on 01/03/2025. This is evident from their transaction history.
Before this time, outgoing transactions from this address were not marked with a tag. This means the user previously used, for example, XUMM to manage the address, and later authorized with their seed on the Service and began using it.
XRPScan has a search function for transactions by various parameters, including Source Tag (console.xrpscan.com). Through this, you can see that payouts with this tag occur frequently, constantly, and from many different addresses.
Therefore, this is most likely a service where you can authorize using your own seed. And it's quite a popular service.
Can you use your own addresses on Robinhood?
Out of curiosity, I check out one of my XRP addresses that I had created using a noncustodial wallet (Trustwallet) some years back
1. Discovered that in the one outgoing transaction that I made, it has the same Source Tag: 1741383633
2. The wallet was activated by HTX.
I believe the Source Tag appears to be a default of sorts for so many other addresses, thus so many transactions involving it. I want to think that certain wallet software packages use it just as a default value, since it's not as crucial as the destination tag.
So the prize goes to the most attentive and helpful person. Thanks, bro!
By the way, I've been trying to figure this out for a week in various XRP communities and kept getting either banned for asking this question or ignored at best.
So for those who have no choice but to use XRP, I'd advise watching your back with this coin because the community has issues
Thanks mate, tip received.
