Hey everyone, I’m new here. I’ve got this idea for a coin/token and I’m going with BSC for it. But there’s a bit of a technical question I’m stuck on. Once I create the token, for the amount I’ll have in my dev wallet (thinking like 2-3%), do I need to buy those tokens as usual or can I just connect a wallet and directly "deliver" the tokens? I think that’s what minting is. Would love if someone could clear this up for me. Also, I’m planning to do an airdrop as part of my marketing strategy. How exactly do I go about that? Thanks a lot, Cryptonoob711 here.

AFAIK, after minting, you'll have the minted tokens in another address (dev address) besides the contract address. So, if you want to move them to another address, you can send them manually. The first thing you need to do is make people aware of the airdrop program you're going to create. You can spread information about it on various mainstream crypto social media platforms like X or Telegram. After that, you can create a community for your project to gather interested people, then you can start an airdrop program.

You just deploy BEP-20 token using some tools and you can allocate some supply for developer such as development purpose and funding the research. You only need to buy the token you deployed if you are launching on a platform like pump.fun or something similar where they enforce fair allocation, otherwise you can do whatever you want with the BEP-20 token. I really hope that you don't spam the chain with useless token though since we've got enough. If you genuinely want to experiment and market your project honestly, that'd be great.
