You wanna hear the funniest crypto joke I’ve come across recently? Here it is. Picture this: you ditch your job at McDonald's because you’re convinced you’ll strike it rich by 2025, but then nothing goes as planned. Now, out of nowhere, McDonald's drops this ad trying to hire you back... Just think about how awkward that welcome back party would be.

LOL. But on a serious note, if those crypto bros who quit their jobs last year are now going back to their day jobs it means they weren’t able to maximize their profits last year or even in 2024. Also shows how sometimes quitting your job when you’re just starting out an investment isn’t the wisest thing.

Well, as long as they pay their employees with BTC, I'm pretty sure many "crypto bros" would be interested. I know this ad is just a joke but think of what will happen if McDonalds suddenly decides to use Bitcoin? That might be helpful news in pushing this sudden market crash back up to where it once was a couple of days ago.

That's from previous bear market cycle if i recall correctly. But i doubt that any crypto bro's background as shitcoin trader would count as positive CV, when it comes to customer service these days. It wouldn't help if you disguised it as "Doing technical analysis for alternative cryptographic currencies". That's not as geeky / sympathetic background as it used to be. There has been growing hatred towards this "industry" for a while now. You might have better luck being employed by them, by telling you were in jail.

How would one quit their job when they are not sure of getting rich? Such an individual should at least have access to the funds before resignation. Some people just bought some shitcoins that they think will make them overnight millionaires.. The advert is just a mockery of those who have lost money in crypto and might be looking for ways to get employed after failing to hit big. I wouldn't resign from my job because I invested in Bitcoin. We need other sources of income to keep holding. It is also a reminder that we should not expect much from assets and we should always keep our mouths shut.

Did someone at his end just designed this as a sticker? I guess it's because McDonald neither didn't tell what department they want to hire. We can agree that crypto in general could broadly beyond the technicality and technology, in the real world of crypto as a financial inclusion is also an utility to process and execute payments. Besides, McDonald's is a food service company, so what service can the crypto's offer them? Oh less I forget, McDonald's accepts bitcoin for payments. But and so what? Perhaps it doesn't sound fun or some jokes, just awful.

Well, there is no shame in trying to get your back up after a fall; some persons never make the effort to get back on their feet or even try to get a job. It is always frustrating after losses in crypto. The frustration is even capable of pushing some people into crime that they did not intend to be involved in. So if your frustration from investment in cryptocurrency pushes you back to your old job to start afresh, you have not done badly. What is important is for you to learn from some of the investment mistakes made the first time so they do not repeat themselves.

Good point, haha. But I think McDonald's is making such ads because they flipped the Ethereum market cap last night, and that news was circulating on social media as a hot topic, and maybe this can be a reason they are now kind of confident and making fun of those who left their jobs at the company. And I think they don't know Ethereum is not even a king of the crypto market, which is actually Bitcoin. So they can celebrate this after comparing themselves from vizier of the king. As no doubt Ethereum is also a good altcoin as a part of investment, but Bitcoin is bitcoin which is claiming its title as the king of the crypto space for a reason. And the king is king. And I really believe that your post is enough as a reply to that meme. haha.

If working at McDonald’s was your source of income before cryptocurrency then you should not quit it because you think cryptocurrency can make you rich in 2025. Working at McDonald depending on the position can’t enable you to save enough to believe you will still not need extra money to sustain you even if you join Cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency should not be your validation from working for McDonald’s or starting your own business.

Well, McDonald's is such a behemoth these days that they don't really bother with such provocative advertising any more - it's unnecessary. There might be a single franchisee who has decided to do this, but they would probably get quite a lot of heat from corporate for "bringing the brand into disrepute" because it could potentially cause customers to turn away. It's more likely to be AI generated however, because anyone with a braincell and an account at one of the many AI sites could easily produce this. It's not the first example I've seen and would not be the last, it's a common meme when any asset has a dump - similar things happened with the recent silver and gold drop.

This is good! I wouldn't have thought McDonald's would make an ad like this, but it's a funny commercial. It's probably a scene from a previous bear market season. Although, we're going through similar times to that bear market season these days. We'll be back to work at McDonald's if things continue like this, thanks to the bears.

Nice ad. I love harmless jokes like this I don't see why anybody should have a problem with this. I believe its okay to make comedy of some situation in order to lighten the mood. Anyone who quits his job simply because he believes he will be rich isn't very smart, actually.  You quit your job after you have become rich, not simply because you thought you would be rich. Its a different thing when you quit to focus on something else, but quitting simply because you expect an investment to make you rich when it hasn't happened is a funny.

It's more like an insult; it's like saying when the market recovered and you made a profit, why not post a banner ad that says "Thank you, McDonald's, but I'm building the next biggest burger chain". They've just concluded that it's the end of cryptocurrency without looking at the market history. The market crash is fast and unexpected, but the recovery and profit season will be fast also. Looking at the market, it's now recovering.

The ad seemed funny to me too, but since it didn't seem realistic, I thought it might be AI. Then, after doing some research online, I saw that the image had been the subject of several articles explaining that it wasn't real... https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2024/jul/05/viral-image/no-this-isnt-a-real-mcdonalds-billboard-recruiting/ https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/crypto-mcdonalds-billboard/ Still, if I ever go to work at McDonald's, I won't go there without getting Ethereum, Bitcoin, Ripple and LTC tattoos on my arms. If we ever meet there, maybe you'll recognize me by my tattoos. I promise to serve your order cleanly to your table. I hope you leave me a good tip... :)

It looks like another AI-generated bullshit. Those who understand Bitcoin and invest in it just laughed it off. But it's an ad that fits perfectly for the crowd who learned about crypto and wasted their money on futures, went broke buying useless altcoins or lost their money to scams while dreaming of getting rich. There is a big difference. Many people invest their money without even knowing what they are investing in. And in the end they are left disappointed and broke.

McDonalds is moving into robotic AI I believe, maybe the advert too is AI.  That would be the most relevant thing about that image besides the joke.    Its smarter to continually buy and Dollar cost average as you earn, up or down in BTC.  Also even if you do not need the money as wages, you should use it to contribute towards a pension scheme which is often tax linked to the job so for that reason do not quit.     A more serious take would relate to the FIRE movement which is usually about young professionals or trades who can own their own business.  Even they would recommend not full retirement but part time work to utilize any tax breaks best while avoiding the highest tax rates on income.

What actually matters most to me is the ability of McDonald to publicly announce such information, when these new guys have doubted Bitcoin and it's ecosystem, McDonald could let it spark its light and see the betterment everywhere.

That's a meme that always get on the trend when the market is dumping. Even in bull runs, that advertisement of hiring for McDonald's is shown to different forums. It's an interesting ad that the company has gotten the attention of the actual potential candidates that they might hire. Because of the thought and belief that just because the market is in the bull run, many have quit their jobs. And when it becomes bearish, they need to get a job again.

LOL! these joke always came out whenever we are going into a bearish market. It was bogdanov and McDonald memes, now the company itself is diving into the clout. Would be better if they could accept bitcoin direct payment while they're at it. At least, not just hiring . I would say, don't worry McDonald, the bottom buyers of previous cycle are still up 300%.
