So, I found an old recovery phrase for my Trust Wallet. I used it and I can see I have 18 USDT, but the whole TRON network thing is throwing me off.
Here's my recovery phrase: CHAT TONIGHT SKETCH AWAY TRAFFIC STAY ARCH CEMENT ARREST MAGNET RELIEF SWITCH.
Now, whenever I try to withdraw, it gives me an error saying "Insufficient TRX for gas fees".
How much TRX do I actually need for this? Is this a common issue with TRON?
Thanks!
Struggling with TRX gas fees on Trust Wallet

When you posted your wallet mnemonic seed words like this, your wallet is accessible by many other people, and your fund can be stolen too.
Remove that part immediately.
The information means you have USDT on TRON blockchain, and on that blockchain, TRX is the blockchain native currency which is used for on chain transaction fees.
This means to move TRX on TRON blockchain or any TRC20 tokens on TRON blockchain, you always need TRX for transaction fees. You must by small amount of TRX like about $5 to $10 and send it to that wallet address, for using TRX for on chain transaction fee of your USDT transaction.
Definition of tokens.
After that, you must (remember MUST) move all fund in that wallet to a new wallet. Because the wallet should be assumed as compromised by your careless post with the recovery phrase initially.
completelly off topic. sounds like a begging topic. in any case what has been posted should be... a scam!
An user get a "seed" for some magic money and long story short, you had to pay some fees.
Once you send money to this address "its gone" your funds have been taken because there are 2 private keys with tron.
You can find more details searching "seed phrase trap," "rotten seed phrase attack," or "TRON gas honeypot,"
You can swap some USDT for TRX to pay the network fee even with a zero TRX balance via https://trxswap.app/gettrx
Ive seen scams like this before, but for much more bigger amounts and not a dust amount like this. One thing about scams like this is that the only people who ends up falling for it are people who are either greedy or just another cheap thief who wants to capitalize on the ignorance of a newbie.
One reason I believe this is a scam attempt too is the because trust wallet always indicates the minimum amount of TRX required to move a particular amount of fund out of that wallet, so its unlikely for someone who already had some funds there to claim to be ignorant for this.
Take notice people of what bitbolo has said. No one will carelessly put their seeds over the internet asking for some fees. I've seen this kind of scam before so, I know that there might be some good hearts out there but don't let it be abused by those people who are looking to scam you.

The scammer funded the account from a Binance wallet, although it's likely unrelated to his account.
I'm not a smart contract expert, but I don't think this method would work if the scammer embedded the contract code to deny any external fee handling.
This can be believed from an account with a history, not from a new account with a single post.
Or, to put it simply, a quick bot can be placed with the wallet seed and broadcast any funds sent to another address owned by the scammer. In short, this is 99% a scam.
The current approach now is to find someone good enough to help newbie withdraw his funds since small amount might attract a genuine help from other user.
Scammer target is the fee and who knows there maybe a lot of user that helps on this kind of situation. I thought about helping the OP when reading the title but disclosing the seed phrase immediately is very suspicious and falls to the typical old scam scheme.

This is classic trap which not gonna work here, for many times that TRON honeypot scams has been widely exposed in this forum. No sane people would fall from that old trick.
But on other channels we can't deny that this dangerous, knowing there are so many newbies and they might got trick on huge USDT stuck on the wallet then they send fees and the scamming starts then those people sending funds to that wallet will never recover their money again. Knowledge is importance since many attempts like this exist on internet. Those unknowledgeable greedy dudes is the one usually fall from this attacks.

Do not tell me that you are unaware that posting your seed phrase can make the public get access to your trust wallet fund.
I am not surprised because this is not the first time I am seeing this kind of trick of scamming people to input the seed phrase on their device and any attempt to withdraw the funds in the wallet will lead to sharp removal of the money sent to the wallet for gas fee.
This is an old pattern used in the ages and it's not going to work here. It is only greedy people that will fall for this smiple trick.
