Everything happening around us shows the decline of the British Empire. The empire is crumbling, and the establishment seems to be frantically trying to either save it or at least hold onto the pound until the rich can escape. By the way, taking funds from Russian assets and then loaning that same cash to Ukraine? That’s pretty low and disrespectful. But really, everything we’re witnessing is just the downfall of an empire built on deceit, plunder, and manipulating others while sinking their ships. It’s all just falling apart nothing anyone can do. Canada, the USA, Russia, and Eastern Europe should band together since France and the UK are on the decline. Germany might be a player, but they shouldn’t be leading Europe. If Canada doesn’t get its act together, I can see Trump using military force to take control and make Canada great in alliance with Eastern Europe and Russia.

Post this kind of thread on Politics & Society next time. How is what is going on in the world between the West and Russia related to British Empire? I did not see any correlation. And you thought US will be looking and happy because Russia wants to become a threat for them? Russia can not think of that not to think of doing that because they know how dangerous the move is for them and how they will be the loser.

Do you realize that you're taking the whole world as a reference point to how everyone of us have been affected by the fall of the British empire, I don't seem to believe on this, not everyone was a slave of the old and modern era of the British, then the collapse has many causes and we can't now say that this modern day civilization, technology and development were all what constituted to the collapse of the British empire, I disagree.

Well is sad to say that the foundation the British laid has become a great treat to there current existence. All there efforts to colonize Is on personal acquisition that has been unknown to there subjects, now it's causing lack of trust and fear in the minds of there colonies. I believe it will take a long time to repair the damages done and fall back to it's ground again.

The fall of the British Empire was not a sudden event, but a structural process that began in World War II. The British Empire's de facto collapse began after World War II, not today. Britain's greatest regret was inviting the United States into World War II (1941) as a strategy of imperial survival. Consequently, Britain secured its short-term existence but sacrificed its long-term strategic sovereignty. From then on, Britain transformed from a global empire into a junior partner to America. The Pax Britannica system was replaced by Pax Americana. So, what we are witnessing today is not a new decline, but rather a power degradation that has been going on for 80 years. The British Empire was not only built on plunder and manipulation; all great empires operate in a similar pattern; Britain's is simply the most systematic and legalistic. It is more accurate to say that it was not the British Empire that collapsed, but the old western order, considering that the British Empire had collapsed since World War II, what we see today is the loss of the illusion of power, the desperation of the old elite to maintain influence/post power syndrome, England, France, even the US are still strong but are no longer absolute hegemons because the world is moving towards multipolar fragmented blocs with geopolitics based on regional power, not global empire. The idea that Trump will take over Canada militarily is unrealistic, considering that Canada is a core NATO ally and a member of the Five Eyes. Therefore, a military invasion would destroy US global legitimacy and trigger internal conflict within America.

The British Empire collapsed, voluntarily, at the request of Great Britain itself, and in light of the situation. But unlike some, Great Britain is not trying to restore the EMPIRE, which Russia, for example, is currently attempting to do, and is openly talking about it. Regarding the “wrongful act” of seizing money from a terrorist country and transferring it to the victim country, let me explain: the US, the UK, and Russia were signatories to the Budapest Memorandum, which GUARANTEED the INVIOLABILITY of independent Ukraine and the integrity of its borders.  Who violated this agreement? So this is PUNISHMENT for BREACHING THE AGREEMENT! So both arguments are, to put it mildly, “far-fetched”

UK dismantling its empire ≠ Russia trying to rebuild one by force. One was a political decision shaped by reality, the other is open revanchism. Re the seized funds: this isn’t random theft. US/UK/Russia signed the Budapest Memorandum and guaranteed Ukraine’s borders. Russia broke that guarantee, plain and simple. When agreements are violated, consequences follow.
