Bitcoin is definitely a solid investment. But besides bitcoin, what other cryptocurrencies should we consider grabbing right now? Looking to hold onto them for the long haul and cash in when the time is right.

This is a Bitcoin discussion board and all we know is Bitcoin, Bitcoin and Bitcoin. Maybe if you create a new topic on the Altcoin section of the forum, you could probably find an answer to your question.. But,  I will give you a little piece of advice .. Don’t risk anything on shitcoins but if you want to still go ahead, do it with a little  amount.   The chart doesn’t lie  .

Bitcoin first, then others may follows at your own risk, because altcoins may not have the trust to consistent performance as we may have in bitcoin, if you think you can afford the risk, then invest in some, but not as many like that, make some research on them and know that you may not have the same result as with bitcoin, but ensure your portfolio constitutes majorly on bitcoin, this will give you the maximum rest upon investment needed, while if you're a newbie, i may not advise alts for you until you developed more thicker skin for risk.

Play safe and maintain bitcoin investment, don't be greedy or moved by the hypes you see around other cryptocurrencies, they are only a short term performance that mostly rent many investors on loss before they realized, bitcoin has the covers you needed and you can either invest to hold for a long time or learn to trade and be profitable, don't invest on random shitcoins in altcoins, the risk there are more than the benefits.

To be honest, bitcoin is enough for a good for being among crypto. Rest of the altcoins are not going to be as price risky as bitcoin but also not a good store of value over the long term. If you want some good profits then go with bitcoin. Altcoins can crash and dump and get abandoned anytime and are only there to make money for the creators of the coin, not the investors. So buy bitcoin, whatever sideways it might go, ultimately it will go upwards only.

Its excellent that you have come to relaise that fact! . . . so why do you need $hitcons? The only attraction $hitcoins could hold for anyone not clued in is that they are cheap and appeal to "whole"coiners, those who are not satisfied with owning Satoshis but like the idea of owning a whole coin or many of them. The second reason $hitcoins have an appeal is because there is a narrative out there in influencer land that this is where massive profits lie, not in Bitcoin. The appeal is that the are still very cheap and "could" go to the moon. Just buy Bitcoin in as many Satoshis as you can afford and have patience.

Buy BTC, OP. Don't diversify that much into other coins.

With the number of cryptocurrencies available, there will always be the temptation to invest in multiple options. Some coins will have the hype, and you will be drawn there to invest, and you may not be lucky at the end of the day because the hype does not always last. Because of the experience we have from seeing a lot of coins gain hype and at the end still not perform, there is a consensus that Bitcoin, because of its reputation, remains the best choice to invest in. There is a better chance for you to profit more from cryptocurrency when you invest long-term in bitcoins than when you spread your investment over multiple altcoins in the market.

As a newbie, I don’t think you should be talking about other coins apart from bitcoin because bitcoin is the best and the most valuable asset you can buy and have a good feeling and hold for a long time, there are other cryptocurrencies but from the looks of them you can confidently say that bitcoin is the best and no other cryptocurrency is going to be better than bitcoin because of the way it works and how people believe in it and benefits from it for years now. It will be better if you don’t see other altcoins as bitcoin and you wanted to buy it because of the price and other things that confuse people to buy it, buying other coins that ie not bitcoin is very risky and it will be a good thing if you learn or ask those who have take the risk before, i will advise that you should not even think of buying it so that you will not regret it at the end and start thinking that they are the same with bitcoin because that is the reason why some people don’t believe in bitcoin anymore.

This is a Bitcoin discussion, and people won't advise you to buy anything other than Bitcoin. You might find advice on buying other tokens elsewhere, but here, people will advise you to stick with Bitcoin because it's safer for you right now. You might read advice to diversify into other cryptocurrencies because, according to an article, that's a way to protect your investment. But cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin are more volatile and risky, so people shouldn't invest their money in them unless they're prepared for that risk. So, it comes back to you. If you want a safer, long-term investment, then you can choose Bitcoin. But if not, you can choose shitcoins.

Bitcoin is the best choice, although there are other altcoins like Ethereum. But if you're starting out and you're thinking of the long term, nothing beats owning Bitcoin. And what you should do is to focus in it and understand that the most patient holders always wins in the end. From that point, you'll probably think that there's no way out in it already when you're able to accumulate some for yourself.

I will always tell about Bitcoin, even though its season is always there because investing in Bitcoin is more important and besides, it is important to take profit in the coin because sometimes the price does not go up in the market, due to which we can also use other coins. Although I will not advise anyone to short and long term, if you are not an expert in it, then stay away from it, of course, why don't you get 100x profit in it because it makes our intelligent people lose our money by tempting us for profit. Although in addition to this, in my opinion, I will draw them towards Etherum, BNB, because it is capable of giving good profit along with Bitcoin. In addition, if you have more money, then you should invest in Bitcoin and leave it, although you have to be a little patient, but you will get a big profit that can change your life.

Bitcoin is the first choice because only bitcoin have proven to be a store of value overtime. However, if you are looking for altcoins to gamble with, I think you should try out BNB. The price performance was high in the last bull run and BNB recorded an ATH of $1k+. Solana is also good but only invest with the amount of money that you can afford to lose.

now that this topic is in an appropriate subforum i think i will reply. you gotta choose the narrative you believe is gonna dominate and then bet potential winners. for example, if you believe in the tokenisation of the economy, then likely winners will be something like Chainlink, Uniswap, Aave. for memecoins narrative it's probably safe to bet on the world's most famous memes: doge, pepe, pengu. maybe a completely new narrative will emerge and dominate though, nobody knows.

It's Bitcoin that can offer you the long term profits you are looking for. Anything else you are aiming for, to invest as a coin, you are in for it as a loss if your intentions are to hodl them for the long term. So, my advice to you is to invest in Bitcoin that is proven to be good for long term, then invest in altcoins for short term. Then you have saved yourself from the future losses that will occur from altcoins investment

The usual altcoins will be at the top. Don't go deeper trying to find your lottery altcoin that will 100x. There could still be some of them but rare finds these days. So if the choice is to go long, the top coins are the usual good ones for you. Always start with the principle of what you can afford to lose.

I will just add the most famous quote that most crypto influencers are using every time they make a video. "Not financial advice" Ethereum, XRP, BNB, HYPE, SUI. The final 3 are just my own recommendation and you don't need to buy those, but I have my own reasons as to why I want to hold these 3 for the long term. The first 2 for me are what I called the "must have" if you want to invest into long term altcoins. Why? Stability, and longevity. They're stable, and they've been at the top for a long time especially with Ethereum hence, many are recommending it as well as the altcoin to hold for the long term. If you're a newbie, don't look at the bottom altcoins because many of them because it's way more risky. Focus on the top altcoins, and of course, don't forget about Bitcoin.

What about sol? I was expecting to see it in your list. The top three alt coins right now remains Eth, sol and sui. There are other but considering the kind of volatility that comes most times with these altcoins it's best for op to stick with the major ones. Some people barley even have eyes on altcoins but tokens and those are even more risker than the altcoins we know. Most tokens are launched for one sole purpose and that's to reap investors of their money. But since they feel it's faster making profits from tokens, people still take the risk.

Glad to see you acknowledge Bitcoin (BTC) above altcoins, if you want to maintain the value of your portfolio in the long term besides investing in Bitcoin (BTC), I think the best way is to invest in top altcoins like Ethereum (ETH), BNB (BNB) or Solana (SOL). The altcoins I mentioned have a habit of following Bitcoin (BTC) price movements, so if Bitcoin (BTC) price rises, those coins will also rise. You've taken this out of context, be wiser in your response, mate.
