If you really look into how the economy works, you'll see that fiat money has been losing value for a while now, not just recently since Bitcoin started getting all the attention. It’s been happening even as the world economy changes and trends fluctuate. It’s pretty sad how people think they’re safe holding their cash long term, especially when they see the economy appear to improve, but don’t realize that their money in banks just isn’t worth as much anymore because of inflation. It’s been about a hundred years since the traditional system moved away from being backed by precious metals like gold and silver, which messed with the whole financial timeline and disconnected us from any real backing. Governments won’t mention this stuff; that’s one reason they’re against Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. But some countries see the light and want to help their people escape this mess. Sure, crypto is decentralized and can be volatile, but it can also act as a store of value. Putting your money in Bitcoin now could be a smart move as economies change or get manipulated. It might just be a refuge against inflation, especially since as the economy grows, we’re likely to see more recessions down the road. Only valuable assets with solid market caps will keep us afloat.

You're right. Fiat inflation is indeed a very important reality, and in today’s conditions, preventing your money from losing value is very difficult. However, I dont see Bitcoin as something to preserve the value of money. it is more likely an investment.

I hold my entire finances in Bitcoin, and when I really need emergency funds, I immediately convert them into fiat. Therefore I prefer to withdraw as needed, fiat can't be trusted if held for too long. The value of goods and services is constantly increasing, but when you store value in a specific asset, you can ensure a more secure return on your payments without worrying about its value.

If you are holding too much fiat and feel that you are rich, you are not due to the debasement in fiat currency. Your riches should in an asset where inflation cannot rip off its value. This is why the rich get richer and the poor gets poorer. The rich invest in assets and focus more on passive income while the poor store fiat in the bank and in their houses without investing. Bitcoin has given the opportunity for both poor and rich to invest because it's a store of value in the long term. The best of all, bitcoin gives you full control of your funds. Only keep fiat for your weekly spending.

If you hold your money long term in regular checking or even bank savings accounts you will become poorer, there is no doubt about that. Inflation will eat away at your purchasing power. You will struggle to find any product a regular bank can offer that will help you beat inflation. Poor people save, smart people invest. Put your money in crypto, stocks, real estate.

I agree with yslyv that bitcoin is best response as a store of value if only we've it for investment where hold for the long term while the economy stumbles and advances in growth accompanied with irregular inflations in the future. It's never a reality that bitcoin will act as a store of values for user who regularly uses it for regular and emergency purposes. So I'll advice you MArsland to make some changes because you'll only end up holding at bottom value regarded that bitcoin is volatile and you'll need funds for your everyday needs. And yes we can still own some funds in fiat but should be for the short term usage not long term.

I had a conversation with a friend the other day and told me that he still saves in a normal savings account. When I described the fact that his money was losing some of its purchasing power over time, decades of fiat money inflation have consumed the purchasing power silently, he was surprised to hear that despite the appearance of the health of the economy, his money was losing some of its buying power. That’s why Bitcoin and similar assets are so interesting. They can not be printed, or manipulated by central banks as opposed to fiat. To some extent, it is the digital gold that is an insurance against the invisible inflation and frailty of the old system. By having a little Bitcoin today it would be like insuring your wealth: when other economies are up or down you will own a little something that continues to have value. It has been seen in history that whenever the stability of currencies is violated, people always resort to limited and precious goods. Bitcoin is simply the modern version of that principle.

They say if you just leave your money idle at home, nothing will happen to it; it won't generate a profit. Our fiat money is just held in our homes but isn't producing a profit for the future. In short, our money is just sleeping. Unlike holding it and putting it into Bitcoin, it's sure to have a profit in the future, depending on how many years you do it to get a profit. It's the same thing we do with fiat, but Bitcoin is volatile, and that's the reason why it's good for long-term investment.

However, saving money could be a stepping stone so you can achieve your desired investment. You don’t invest immediately, you save money first, so you can invest for long term without pressuring yourself to take your profits after a short term investment period. Inflation is inevitable, and it’s here to stay for good. So the best solution is, invest in bitcoin and eventually start to diversify once sufficient profits are achieved. But just a reminder, save some emergency funds as well. You don’t want to sell your bitcoin suddenly particularly when emergencies or financial crisis comes.

Inflation are on different categories depending on how popular the Fiat currency is because is only those countries that is usually common and has popular Fiat in the world will you see that even if you hold a large amount of it there is no inflation that would affect it but if is about some of the countries currency, inflation could affect someone money when it strikes, however even if we are talking about digital cryptocurrency we shouldn't remove mentioning inflation because is also very high especially in Bitcoin but the good part of it is that you cannot hold and talk about effect of inflation in your funds because even with the inflation the person usually get more than there Capital.

What would you do if you needed money urgently and wanted to withdraw, but the bitcoin price suddenly dropped 10% or worse? I believe that the commodity price increase and currency devaluation will not be faster and more frightening than the bitcoin dumping in the short term. So I think it would be unwise to put all our money into a volatile asset like bitcoin. We should always have savings in the bank or fiat currency for emergencies and should only use bitcoin for long term investment purposes. Bitcoin is not suitable for savings because of its volatile nature in the short term.

Holding fiat is not actually bad, remember your emergency fund or reserve funds is supposed to be hold in fiat, even though some people would want to put thier emergency fund and back up funds in bitcoin but I feel that this isn't the right way to go about it because you will be needing those money when there is any emergency so to avoid messing up your bitcoin investment is better we just hold this two funds in fiat, because this two funds is what will guide us through our accumulating journey so therefore holding it together with our bitcoin investment does not make much sense to me.

People don't know that banks doesn't even have more than 60% of their deposits in their vault, more of their money at not sitting in the banks, they are doing well in business, laon to private companies and government and some to bonds to support the government but they think they are doing something good with bank deposit. After a year of having your money, you will found out that inflation has eaten everything and bank will only give guy tiny interest rate. If you are not making savings for emergency purposes or miscellaneous needs, you are as good as a failed person with low financial understanding of the fiat system and you are only bringing more suffering to your finance. Savings for health or short term plans are not bad, we all have something to do with fiat money once in a while but doing it as a whole is very bad. I will rather have my money invested on government bonds and be inflation free since the interest rate is higher than lock my money with banks.

It doesn't even matter how long you hold it, as long as you sell it on the bull period, you should be making a profit, and earn mroe than the inflation. Wheras keeping it at home, in fiat, will make you lose it all. Even keeping it at bank, in some savings account, will make it gone too. So, there is no situation where holding fiat will get you richer. Even if you have more fiat this year than last year thanks to interest, the interest is usually a lot lesser than the inflation number, which means, even though the number looks higher, the value of it is lower. So that is why we need to make sure that we are not selling this badly right away. If we can do better, then we can definitely make some good money out of this and do better with crypto instead.

I guess nothing more than emergency and basic needs funds should be held in fiat currency. Every surplus money should de destined to investments. Fiat investments can be also a good alternative, although the rates must be carefully calculated, so you can make sure there is considerable profit being generated when compared to the inflation. And as soon as a decent amount of money is accumulated, make sure to acquire properties, pieces of land or assets like Bitcoin and gold. It's essential to identify different investments which will guarantee you protection and value on long term. Diversification is also a very important factor when thinking on long term stability and progress.

Isn't this too dangerous, even high-risk? Okay, if you need basic necessities, you can calculate the time so you can sell Bitcoin for essential needs. But if you really need funds as quickly as possible, for example, an unexpected disaster occurs, and the price of Bitcoin is also declining, isn't this risky for you? It's true that keeping money in the bank is not good for our finances. Our money will only be depleted by inflation, and it certainly won't grow. So we really should invest in Bitcoin, property, or gold to maintain value and even grow our assets. But in my opinion, putting all your money in Bitcoin is also a wrong decision, especially without an emergency fund. You should rethink your financial strategy.

If you observe very well, these era is not like before when people relied so much on the massive amount of fiat they have accumulated from business profits or just saving their salaries and stack it in bank accounts, during that era, the money had high value, adding to the percentage that banks tops up on a monthly basis for customers, it was enough for people then but now that the economy is not only affecting one person but it's affecting both the rich and the poor, no body wants to stack up fiat now but they want to invest into something that will guarantee profit. Many people are going for Bitcoin, stocks, bond.

I would just add that very few people know how badly they are being robbed. The group of people that are aware of the negative effects of inflation is already quite small, but even within this group very few people know the real effects. Often they look at official numbers and cite some data to show that it is bad but also not that terrible. Inflation is the biggest robbery ever done on humanity, combined with the high taxes that we are forced to pay they are taxing the normal people at a rate that is close to 99%. Much higher than even slaves were taxed in history. Good win for capitalism and democracy, right?

Allowing you in holding Fiat or saving it in the bank is one of the tricks the government will use to devalue the worth of your financial powers, because they will either increase the interest rate and create inflation and at the end of the day, that fiat your savings in your bank account will gradually loose it worth, this way the government is using a proxy means to reduce your purchasing power and controlling your financial lifestyle. Crypto especially Bitcoin doesn't allow for those shenanigans the government always brings up in reducing our financial liberty, which is why we should do more in tilting towards more Bitcoin possession.

You are absolutely right; those without knowledge or intelligence can save money. There is no point in keeping this money in the bank where I can earn profit by investing my own money. If I keep it in the bank, it is investing that money in various activities and earning a lot of profit. That means they are making a profit using my money, but you are not getting anything from the middle. So I also think saving money in the bank is stupid. If you can profit from investing not only in the crypto space but wherever you like, then that is what you should do. On the other hand, investing in Bitcoin in the crypto space can undoubtedly earn profit after a long time. For this, taking profit by investing is a better way than keeping money in the bank.
